  Hi there!
  I’m so glad you found your way to my profile! I live on Askøy, a beautiful island just outside of Bergen on Norway's west coast. It's a peaceful, rural area surrounded by forests and the fjord—a perfect place for those who love nature, silence, and a slower pace of life.
  I’ve been living here since November 2020, and have renovated a charming architect-designed house from 1977. The space is truly unique, and I’m passionate about keeping it beautiful, a bit bohem and functional, and I love budjet smart and esthetic DIY solutions.
  
  About Me
  I'm a interior stylist, yoga teacher and ceramic artist, and I always have creative and practical projects on the go—especially outdoors. I love gardening, small-scale woodworking, landscaping, and anything that involves building or maintaining the property.
  I live here with two sweet and friendly cats, so if you're going to stay here, you need to be comfortable with animals and like cats 🐾
  
  What I'm looking for:
  I'm currently looking for a couple / good friends (no solo travelers) to help with a variety of hands-on and seasonal tasks around the property. You need to be practical, tidy, structured and independent, with a positive attitude and love for the outdoors.
  Tasks include:
  * Garden work (weeding, trimming, planting)
  * Chopping, carrying and stacking wood
  * Clearing up branches, smaller trees, leaves& general tidying.
  * Simple carpentry
  * Scraping, sanding, painting.
  * General maintenance tasks, or the ability to Google a task and learn! 😃
  
  You’ll be working independently most of the time, as I have other commitments—but I love to join in when I can, and I’m always happy to share tips and a good conversation
  
  What You’ll Get
  You’ll stay in a private 50m² apartment on the ground floor of the house, with your own entrance, bathroom, kitchen, and living space.
  * Free WiFi
  * Peaceful surroundings & nearby hikes
  * Close to nature – fjord just 5 minutes away
  * Bus stop 3 minutes away – approx 75 minutes to Bergen city
  
  Note,,you are responsible for cleaning the apartment before you leave. This is not included in your working hours since you have a private appartement.
  I’ll take care of washing towels and bed linen.
  
  Food included 3 meals a day
  * Vegetarian food is provided for you to cook your own meals (simple items like pasta, hot pots soup, salad, etc.)
  * Breakfast is: bread or muesli.
  * Lunch: bread and spread.
  * Some dinners we’ll share together.. If not I’ll provide so you can make on your own. Vegetarian food
  * I usually bake bread several times a week! 😀
  
  ✅ Important Notes
  Please read carefully to see if this is a good fit for you:
  1. Couples or 2 friends only (no solo travelers)
  2. You must be positive/ solution solving/ practical/handy – especially for outdoor work
  3. Gardening and light carpentry skills are a big plus
  4. You must like cats 🐈
  5. Reliable, tidy, structured and able to work independently
  6. Non-smokers only
  
  What I'm Not Looking For
  To make sure this is a good experience for both of us, I want to be clear about a few things that don’t work well in this environment:
  ❌ Negative or entitled attitudes
  ❌ High-maintenance behavior or lack of flexibility
  ❌ Constant need to be right or unwillingness to take feedback
  Living and working under the same roof requires mutual respect, a positive mindset, and a willingness to contribute. I truly appreciate people who bring good energy, take initiative, and are engaged in the work we do together.

  Enjoy both Bergen and Askøy. So much to see, experience, explore and hikes to be hiked. The bus goes often, bus stop is 300m from my house.

  I offer a separate apartment in my house, 50 square meters. The house is on the Island Askøy, right outside Bergen. My house is close to the sea, and surrounded by nature. Many hiking tours in the area.
