Thank you Paul and Áine for welcoming me into your home especially at the last minute.
I did a variety of jobs with Paul both outdoors and indoors that included stone wall building, roof mending and rebuilding shutters.

We were very happy to have Mike contact us when we were looking for someone last minute. He arrived next day and settled right in. He is quiet and polite - very easy to have in the house. He's great, as nothing was a challenge for him and he was willing to help with anything we needed.
We tackled some repairs to a stone wall, building some
… read more reinforced cement platforms as well as some other small outside jobs.
After a few days of bad weather we had an emergency call from friends to say that they had a roof leak. He very kindly went along to help and although we did not expect him to go up on the roof, he was straight up to help Paul!
The majority of his time though we spent working on repairing old external shutters. Paul could describe what needed to be done and he just got on with it.
On his last day we had our firewood delivery, so with a very early start he helped moving 2 tonnes of logs into our house!
There was plenty of good conversation round the dinner table where we especially enjoyed his stories about some of his previous projects in Australia. Although he said he wasn't much of a cook, he made a great steak dinner for us one evening and he always helped with the washing up which Áine aprreciated.
We have no hesitation recommending Mike - any host will be lucky to have his help.

We stayed with Paul and Áine for almost two weeks and had a great time with them. We organised our stay quite spontaneously, but nontheless the communication with Paul and Áine was very easy. We also got to enjoy 'DJ Maika's' Spotify play lists whilst working! We enjoyed having them stay with us and are happy to recommend them to other hosts.

On the day Tommy and Anika were due to arrive there was a train strike. The main tasks they helped with were preparing and waxing an old tile floor, as well as lots of preparation and painting work for internal doors, an external door and windows.
The days ended with dinner on the terrace where we had some fun chats... don't let Anika near any emperor penguins! One evening they cooked a delicious chicken and mushroom risotto (be prepared for 'not much room' jokes!) and baked Anika’s speciality, marble cake for us.
We are happy to recommend Anika and Tommy to other hosts and you are both welcome back here anytime. Thanks again for your help.

Áine & Paul were lovely hosts. I only stayed a short time with them but had time permitted I would have stayed much longer! The work we did wasn’t too strenuous and was simple enough for a beginner to get the hang of. We did some floor waxing and painted doors and window frames in another old house. Paul’s amazing playlists kept the vibes up

They were super informative about the nearby attractions and flexible with hours, allowing us to go see them during our free time. Dinner with them was an absolute pleasure- good food, conversation and wine was how we got to end every evening. Thanks so much for for the great experience! All the best <3
It was a pleasure to meet and host Andrea & Hiram two lovely, friendly and obliging young ladies. They stayed with us for just over a week and mostly helped out around the house doing general household cleaning. They also helped with preparation for repairing and painting some old window shutters. Another task they tackled was polishing some old
… read more cotto floor tiles. They worked well without supervision when we had to leave to do other tasks away from home a couple of times.
The highlight of their stay would have to be when they cooked for us. One of our favourite cuisines, we really enjoyed having authentic Mexican food cooked for us by someone from Mexico, especially the tacos and guacamole – not to mention the Mexican cocktails. Delicious.
They were here at a time when our local train service was not running and using the less frequent replacement bus service had its challenges. But they got to grips with it and along with the local bus service they managed to make a few trips. We hope it did not interfere too much with your enjoyment of exploring the area. Thanks again for your help and all the best for the future.
We very much enjoyed meeting and getting to know Evelina & Rugilė. They are both hard workers and no job was too much of a challenge for them. They helped with lots of cleaning, including the many windows, as well as plant care, painting and helping Paul generally with organising. They were very diligent in their tasks, not needing supervision but
… read more asking if they had any questions. They often worked longer than they needed to just to ensure a task was completed. During their spare time they did lots of exploring and they also cooked for us. Anyone who has a chance to host them won't regret it - and if you are lucky you may get to enjoy some of their ‘salami cake’ as Paul named it (also known as Lazy cake) – or the Šaltibarščiai (Lithuanian cold beet soup) – perfect for these hot Summer evenings.
We have no hesitation recommending them to other hosts - they were a pleasure to have staying with us and we are sorry it couldn't have been for longer.
We spent a bit more than a week at Aine and Paul's and we couldn't have asked for a better first Workaway experience. Our hosts were very hospitable and kind. The work we did was mostly cleaning, organizing and a bit of painting. Everything was manageable - we appreciated clear communication about our tasks, Paul and Aine were patient and happy to

After work we had a chance to explore beautiful nature, local culture (somehow ended up in not one but two local beer festivals!) and enjoy yummy dinners cooked by our hosts with a side of conversation ranging from politics to Taylor Swift. It truly felt like home and we couldn't be more grateful!
Ellen and Todd stayed with us for two weeks at the end of September beginning of October. They arrived late at night due to transport delays but were still eager to get started first thing next morning. The main work we did was restoring windows, doors and shutters, so lots of prepping, cleaning, sanding and painting. They are both very capable

Ellen often cooked dinner for us and despite the Autumn evenings drawing in early we managed to eat out on the terrace many times and chatted until it got dark. We also had our last barbecue of the season - Ellen prepared side dishes while Todd helped Paul with the grilling. Todd diligently washed up after every meal – another thing that was greatly appreciated.
It was a pleasure to meet Ellen & Todd and get to know them. We enjoyed hearing about their travels and some of their future plans as well but most of all their enthusiasm for the beautiful area we live in. We have no hesitation recommending them to other hosts.
We had a wonderful two-week stay at the end of September, as the weather was nice and warm. Paul and Aine were very hospitable. Paul was the perfect "boss": giving good guidance of his expectations without micromanaging every step of the work. Ellen and Aine enjoyed cooking together while chatting away about life in Italy. The accommodations in

For work, we spent most of our time restoring inner and outer window coverings/shutters which needed painting plus other miscellaneous tasks. On our days off we hiked around the area using the alltrails and mapsme app. Todd also spent a lot of time after work on the incredible roof-top terrace overlooking the valley. This village of Granola is the busier one in the area and the house is right in the center, with a few stores in town. On our last night, Aine and Paul took us out to the local pizzeria which was very tasty!!
It was a pleasure to host Emily & Alice. They were with us for two weeks and fit in straight away, eager to help with whatever needing doing (including spider removal even though they hated it!!!). They were happy to start earlier some mornings too as we were experiencing very high temperatures during those few weeks. They helped with lots of

As always, our tasks were many and varied so also included a little furniture repair and restoration, plastering an external wall and painting it, as well as other time-consuming, tedious tasks we had been meaning to do for ages!
They were both keen to help out with the cooking and made very nice dinners for us several times as well as a lovely tiramisu! There was always plenty to talk and laugh about over dinner and the many hours afterwards as we enjoyed the cool nights on the terrace. Thank you both again for all your help and we wish you happy travels and all the best for the future.
We stayed at Aine and Pauls for 2 weeks and loved our time there. The work was very flexible and nothing too difficult! It was mainly cleaning and some maintenance jobs on the house; we learnt how to plaster and paint an outside wall which was good fun. The house is big and there’s so much space which is really nice for your time off as it felt

It’s also a good location to get to La Spezia and Cinque Terre for day trips, so you have the choice to do that on the days off. We really enjoyed our time there and being able to stay in one place for 2 weeks while we were on our travels around Italy and would love to return one day so that we can finish off the green olives and coffee ha ha, so we recommend! (Especially if you want a Harry the mosquito impression!)

We spent 12 amazing days with Áine and Paul in our first Workaway experience.
They're such a great couple! You could tell from the first talk with Áine that she's a very sensitive and nice woman. 😊 She's always checking that you're OK or if you need something. And she's also a very good chef! Paul has the soul of an inventor. He has almost every

Of course he'll be very patient and explain how to use his tools and how to do your task. He's really considered with the food you like the most too 😄
We had really interesting and funny conversations with both of them and they were always open to hear from our culture and to try our food when we cooked dinner.
They were very fair with the working hours and really generous by letting us choose when to take our days off, according to the wheather, the crowds during the weekends or what we preferred. They also gave us some useful advice. In our days off, we were able to visit La Spezia, Cinque Terre, Pisa and Lucca. All of them really beautiful places reachable by train. During the afternoon, we visited lovely and magical little villages such as Gragnola itself, Rometta, Cortila, ecc. The area is absolutely amazing and it's great if you like to take long walks and discover new places.
Regarding the tasks, we did some cleaning in the terraces and in two of the rooms so we could prepare it to work on smothening and sealing its floor. We did some gardening and Diego helped Paul with the organsation of his workshop too.
We are already missing those exquisit meals made by Áine and Paul and specially the long after-dinner conversations. We are happy of having met both of them and we wish we could have stayed longer. We recommend 100% Áine and Paul as hosts for your next Workaway experience. We really hope we can see them again someday!

We really loved having Juli and Diego stay with us – they were here almost two weeks and we would have been happy if they could have stayed longer. From the start, they were eager to help with anything we needed. Specifically, they helped thoroughly cleaning two rooms before they sealed the cotto tile floors. They worked on our terraces cleaning

As well as all of these duties we were very happy that they were also eager to cook. We enjoyed many Argentinian treats such as Pastel de papa and Empanadas to celebrate their national holiday Primer gobierno patrio
They have some wonderful wooden pasta tools which they designed and made by hand themselves so one evening they made their very special Corzetti stampati. Another evening we all made pasta together - Garganelli using their special handmade tool as well as tagliatelle. We enjoyed our dinners immensely – and our chats after.
We have no hesitation recommending Julieta and Diego to other hosts – you will be lucky to have them. Thank you both for all your help.

Nick was particularly handy in repairing some old hammers and other tools that needed TLC, as well as sharpening our kitchen knives.
Julie helped with a great deal of cleaning and general organising around the house, often tidying up the mess Paul and Nick created! She also did a lot of maintenance on the terrace plants, pruning, repotting, feeding etc.
As well as all of this, Nick cooked tasty dinners for us almost every night and they entertained us with stories of their travels. We enjoyed our time with them and happily recommend them to other hosts.

The work is as described and both Paul and Aine are eager to teach the ins and outs of all the tasks required. They were endlessly patient when we were learning new skills and very good at delegating our tasks fairly, to match our skill levels. We have now gone back into the world knowing how to tile, plaster, cut glass, paint correctly, do minor restoration work and Ainé also taught us that you can make your own baked beans at home AND how to remove ANY stain with things you would have lying around the house!
They had so much knowledge of things to do and to see in the area and even rescued us after a day out in Equi Terme when the bus wouldn't let us ride back to Gragnola.
They are both wonderful cooks and we have never been so well fed in our lives. They even took us to meet their friends at a popular pizzeria in town and to a little festival in a neighbouring town which I will not even attempt to spell.
Our favourite times were when we would sit and chat into the evenings, after dinner, as the sun set over the charming town of Gragnola ( where everyone knows Paul and Ainé! ) or our movie nights. Movie nights have a special "half-time" snack rule which we will certainly be adopting when we get back from our travels.
They both are great fun and full of the chats, there is never a dull moment in their home and while it was busy during work hours, there is a sense of tranquility that only comes from being in good company.
If they ever invite you to workaway in their home, say yes - we will hopefully see each other again sooner, rather than later. They truly made our first workaway a memory we will always cherish - and friends we will consider family.
Thank you guys.Feito pelo anfitrião para o Workawayer (Roisin )

Ro is a lovely singer and we miss her dulcet tones echoing through the house as she worked.
She is also a great cook and treated us to dishes from different cuisines including Asian, Mexican and Italian. We enjoyed our dinners together often sitting out on the terrace chatting till quite late as well as a few movie nights at home.
They were both great at keeping up with the day-to-day chores and it was a treat to go 3 weeks without having to wash up after dinner as they took it in turns depending on who cooked.

What a week! Thank you so much to Aine and Paul for having us! We were so lucky to spend a week in Gragnola in their lovely palazzo. The work was very satisfying, very manageable and very flexible - both of them were very clear in communicating what needed to be done, which for us involved general maintenance of the house and some light 'gardening' of the terraces in the sun. We got work done in the mornings which left us the afternoons free to chill or explore the local area. There are loads of beautiful swimming spots which are easily accessible. We visited Cinque Terre which was easily reached by train, but the local area in the hills is equally - if not more - beautiful!

Regarding the type of tasks, you may find different activities depend on your own interest. But the common point, personally, is that you see the result of what you did cause as you clean/fix a part of the house, you explore more how much the house is beautiful.
At the end, we want to write again about the kindness and gentleness of Aine and Paul, and nice memories they made for us in those few days.
Thank you Aine

We really enjoyed having Mary and Hami to stay with us. They are a lovely, warm, funny, quiet and respectful couple. They tackled everything we asked them to do with enthusiasm and we got some great work done – in fact it was sometimes difficult to get them to stop!
We got to sample some wonderful Persian food, learned a few words in Farsi and

On their last night here, with the imminent Perseid meteor shower, we had a great evening on the terrace watching the stars – yes we saw a few shooting stars but the highlight was when Hami found Saturn with the telescope and it was very special to see it, with its distinctive rings, in real life.
They got on great with our two cats – but Leo in particular will miss being brushed by Mary several times a day.
Mamnoon Mary & Hami – we look forward to seeing you again sometime in Milano or maybe even in Iran.

Lovely Couple in Beautiful Tuscany
We were very lucky to spend two weeks working for Áine and Paul. They are both really good people: nice, kind, generous, warm-hearted, empathetic and with a great sense of humour. They always cared for our well-being and they gave us delicious food. We were happy to be able to help them. We had our own private

We really enjoyed sharing our time with them, having our meals together, chatting till late in the evening, sharing anecdotes, having fun, watching the stars and the moon with the telescope and stroking their two lovely cats. The little village where they live is surrounded by beautiful landscapes and we had the opportunity to go to a nice festival in a nearby village, as well as to Cinque Terre, which is quite close. We definitely recommend staying with Àine and Paul and we will always have really nice memories of our time there. Thank you Àine and Paul!!!Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

It was a pleasure meeting Anabella and Raúl and having them stay with us for almost two weeks. They were our first Workawayers and we could not have asked for better. There was so much to do we didn’t know where to start but they soon had us shipshape! They were hard working and enthusiastic – great motivators - and we can’t thank them enough for

We enjoyed listening to their stories from their travels and they got on well with our two cats. We just wish they didn’t have to leave so soon and they will be welcome here anytime – we will miss them.
If you have the opportunity to host this great couple snap them up quickly before someone else does!
Thank you both so much – we wish you safe and happy travels and especially hope you have great craic when you go to Ireland:)Reparamos que o seu perfil tem menos de três fotos.
