Hello folks,
we are currently trying to find new ways of living together in a countryside community. We bought an old guesthouse in Gutenstein, which is the center of the project and is where we eat, work and live together. It´s still under renovation but it is already a very cozy place with lots of space to get creative. The village of Gutenstein is placed in an Austrian dale surrounded by beautiful forests, mountains, and smaller towns.
Along with the village project there a company which builds self-sufficient caravans. So it´s all about the topic of how we want to live in the future.
Since we are working on many construction sides, we could need one or two helping hands every now and then.
Ideally you would work half-time depending on your skills and difficulty of work. We will provide lunch and accommodation but we also have a big kitchen that offers every equipment for cooking, backing and so on.
At the end you will have enough free time to visit the surrounding areas or pay a visit to Vienna, cook, chat, play games or do sport with us or just chill in front of the fireplace or in the sauna - and, if brave enough, have a cold bath in the nearby creek.
We are looking forward meeting you and sharing experiences, love and laughter :)

How do we want to live in the future? We are sure, that it is absolutely necessary to create new possibilities for a more sustainable way of living, especially on the countryside where we normally need a lot of space and resources to build our homes. At the same time we believe that many answers to our problems today is in the concept of villages, that create a local circular supply with food, energy and work. With the association we founded we want to support that. If you come and work with us you can learn about our ideas and help to build the foundation of what could be a self-sustained village in the future!
We need support in the renovation and interior design of our place which means: demolition, setting up the walls, plastering, laying tiles, laying the floor, repainting, window installation, loam plaster, ...
For most work it will be necessary to use driven tools (saws, screw drivers etc.) or some strength. , accordingly if you are all thumbs it might not be the best fit for you ;) If on the other hand you are skilled and able to work self independent we wouldn`t mind to add a little "allowance" to your stay.

You will get your own room (with bathroom) in our guesthouse on the mountaintop of Mariahilfberg. We do have other options available as well and either way will provide something comfy for you ;)
Gutenstein is an awesome place surrounded by nature, so you will also find a lot that you can see and do in your spare time. In summer you can go hiking, running, swimming, climbing, mountainbiking or other sports and during winter there are even possibilities for skiing or back country skiing ... nature is lovey here! In the evenings we sit together, talk, cook, play and just share time :)
