Betta is fantastic! She’s completely trustworthy, hardworking and responsible. We felt totally at ease leaving our pets in her care while we were on holiday - she looked after them with lots of love and even sent us photos and videos so we could see they were happy and well looked after. She also helped us a lot in the garden and with our home renovation. She learns fast, even if something was new to her, she would ask questions, listen and soon be doing it great. She originally came for one month, but we got along so well and enjoyed her company so much that we asked her to stay longer… and she ended up staying five months in total! It was a wonderful experience and we recommend her 100 %. If you’re looking for someone reliable, cheerful, proactive and who truly becomes part of the family, Betta is the perfect person. We already miss her a lot!

My stay with Astrid was one of the most heart-opening Workaway experience, it was my first One. From the first moment, I felt welcomed, trusted, and truly seen for who I am. Her home is peaceful and full of life — a beautiful garden, pool, sauna, lemon trees, guinea pigs, and the beach only 800m away. I had full freedom to organise my tasks in my own way, and I loved the clear communication, house rules, and boundaries — they created so much harmony and safety in the home. The children, Tiago and Malakai, were an absolute highlight. I fell in love with both of them — their softness, creativity, curiosity, and natural wisdom. They reminded me of kindness, presence, and the beauty of simple play. Evenings were magical: Astrid or the kids playing piano while the whole house softened into calm. Those moments made me feel like I could fly away. Astrid is an inspiring woman with a big heart and a life full of meaningful projects. She shared hikes, razor clam adventures, scooter rides, and her family with me. Her authenticity and generosity are rare. This place touched me so deeply that I came back for a second stay — because some connections deserve time. I’m deeply grateful for this experience.

Awesome place, awesome dogs and awesome host! Jurgen is a really good guy, had a great time with him - braai, conversing, etc... There is a lot you can learn here and it is a beautiful property and area.

Andres and Florencia stayed with us for a month at our English Speaking Club. They were able to communicate with our members from different ages, levels and backgrounds. In addition, we got to taste Andres's delicious cooking, both at home and during our South American Culture Workshop. They always have high energy and a never ending social battery! They are also very good observers and able to adapt to changes and different environments. Time flows when you are with them as it is full of music, fun and laughter! Any host would be lucky to host them :)

Our experience with Margarette was a delight. She's incredibly adaptable and easy to relate, quickly became a part of the landscape. All our animals, especially Pamuk, got along wonderfully. We look forward to seeing her again to have a big harvest this time:)

Alizee kam für zwei Wochen, vom 12.11. bis 26.11., auf unseren Hof. Sie ist eine aufgeschlossene junge Frau. Alizee hat sich sofort problemlos in unseren Alltag integriert. Sie arbeitete am liebsten im Freien, so dass sie sich überwiegend um den Garten und das Feuerholz gekümmert hat. Mit der Axt geht sie genau so problemlos um, wie mit der Kettensäge . Sie ist die geborene Handwerkerin. Für Alizee war keine Arbeit zu schwer bzw. zu schmutzig. Sie arbeitete immer selbstständig und sah sofort, wo Hand angelegt werden muss. Auch Regen konnte sie nicht von der Arbeit abhalten. Das Ergebnis Ihrer Arbeit war immer sehr gut. Alizee hat ein großes Herz für Tiere. Unsere Fellnasen liebten sie sofort und Alizee unsere Fellnasen. So hat Sie sich, sofern noch Zeit war, auch bei der Pflege der Hunde eingebracht. Übrigens, auch in der Küche ist sie eine Wucht. Alizee hat uns ein afrikanisches Menü gezaubert. Ein Gaumenschmaus. Abschließend kann ich nur sagen, Alizee ist für jeden Host eine Bereicherung . Die Zeit mit Ihr war, wie so oft, viel zu kurz. Wir vermissen Sie jetzt schon und wünschen uns, Sie eines Tages wieder zu sehen. Für die Zukunft wünschen wir Alizee alles Gute und bedanken nochmals für Ihre großartige Unterstützung. DANKE

Michael brought an incredible spark of enthusiasm and kindness to this place. He jumped into every activity with enthusiasm —whether it was helping around the property, learning activities with the kids, or flowing through yoga sessions with the group. We’re truly grateful for his presence, his warmth, and his contributions over these weeks. Merci, Michael — you’re always part of the family. 🌿✨

I’ve left here now a month ago… and reached home a week ago… It took me quite a while to write a review because at first, I didn’t know what to write exactly. The stay with Sophie, Kieran and Cecily was great. It is such a good feeling to know that I have found new friends in Ireland, I would love to go back and visit again some time… But not only the family, as well the two yard-workers Tom and Padraic are very nice guys and easy to get along with. I could ride horses almost every day and had enough time to do my own work or to read a book or so. It is very satisfying to take care of the animals, and every evening I knew, why I was tired and hungry. Kieran is an excellent cook and the meals Sophie prepares are delicious. Cooking together was always fun, and when something went a bit wrong, we could laugh about it. Some evenings they took me to a restaurant or to a local event. Like that I got to know new peoples and could see some of the Irish culture. On my off-days I had the choice, whether to go somewhere or to stay home, read a book, to go for a walk or what ever… My days here were very horsy, and I loved it! In the morning at first, I got the stove going to have it warm and cozy in the Livingroom and Bedrooms in the Basement, where I and another Workaway-Girl lived. After that I went out to the yard and did some mucking out and feeding together with Tom and whoever was there as well. When we had gotten the horses back in their stables, we went for breakfast at the house. After breakfast the days were very varied; riding different horses, lunging, get young horses used to people by brushing them, walking around with them, longreining them ect.. and there is always the time in between to cuddle the dogs or the donkey <3. Once I went with Kieran to catch mares with their foals for the vet from the field… (It’s wonderful to see so many horses in a herd being happy outside.) In the evening I’ve fed some of the horses again and turned them out. While riding the horses I could improve my fitness and ridingskills, since I haven’t ridden for four months before I arrived. I learned to have a softer hand and a lighter seat. It is amazing how the horses react on that, when the rider adapts to the way how they are ridden. All the horses are very fine to ride. After a while I could ride many different horses and could handle the stallions. It’s all a question of time, the will to improve and reliability. I could ride a lot! We went to the arena, on the streets and for hacks. I loved hacking on the nearly endless fields with jumps and little streams. We checked on cattle and other horses on the fields on horseback. At the weekends in summer, we usually we went for competition, where I would help around, maybe warm up a horse by lunging and take photos and videos. In autumn there were jumping courses or hunting trails for practise, where I could always join and watch if I wanted to. If I would have stayed a little longer, I could have ridden myself as well. I stayed here for 10 weeks while I was traveling Europe for half a year. Leaving here and Ireland at the very end of my travels was sad. Somehow, I was happy to go home and see my family and friends, but it was very hard to leave here and the People who live there, because I begun to feel like home there as well.

I had a great week at Victoria's. My task involved to sand, undercoat and paint a window. I liked that Tori was relaxed about how I managed my work time. I was able to work more on some days to take a different day off. Hayley, another workawaye, arrived a few days later. My Highlights were our interesting conversations and Tori's learnings from life. We went to different live gigs together and Hayley and I were able to accompany Tori during a radio interview. Victoria's apartment has a great character and the best location you could imagine. Just take one step out of the door and you're in the heart of Wellington and everything it has to offer. I'm sure this experience will stay in my mind for a long time!

Matt and Maya, we had a beautiful stay with you, nice summer with your two beautiful souls. Thank for your help, your chats about life and philosophy about our planet and people, loved it. We enjoyed lot of musical nights after really good vegetarian meals. hope you will find a nice place in this world for all your dreams. you know our place will be open for you.

Andria has been an outstanding and highly committed member of our team during her almost 7 month stay, showing a genuine love for the students, the community, and the overall environment at the school. She consistently went above and beyond what was expected, taking a leading role in teaching and happily mentoring other interns and trainees. Her team spirit is excellent—we often learn and share ideas with her daily, fostering a strong collaborative atmosphere. We deeply appreciate her resilient and positive attitude, demonstrating impressive adaptability regarding accommodations. We truly value her dedication, which extended to spending weekends helping with village promotions, and we highly recommend her for any future opportunity.

Mitzi is a lovely intelligent person, who cares for others with respect and kindness. She has a huge work ethic and is happy to try any task. She is very easy company and treated our home with care and respect. When she left we really missed her!! 😢. We worked clearing hedges and very weedy raised beds. This is hard physical stuff and not for the faint hearted. We made wooden raised beds using various tools. Mitzi can also cook😁 Mitzi has medical knowledge and was very supportive of my husband's recovery from his knee surgery. We really enjoyed meeting Mitzi and wish her and her family a happy and successful future. Mitzi is an asset to any employer or host, I highly recommend her. Thank you so much for your help and kindness. 😘

Johanne from Denmark was outstanding! She kept the house extremely clean and organized, and she is honestly one of our best workers so far. She has a great attitude, is very social, and always willing to help with everything. We truly appreciated her positivity and dedication. Highly recommended!

I spend a week on Babs’ finca harvesting olives and I had a great time. She is a nice person to be around and cooks good food. She provided me with a big tent with a bed, in a beautiful spot. The november cold was not a problem because she gave me many blankets and a hot water bottle. The local town is cute and there is a great waterfall hike close by. We were a group of about eight in total, we ate 3 meals together and spend the nights cozy around the fire place. Babs, thank you for everything!

My time here was nothing short of magical! I’m so grateful I got to experience such a beautiful space surrounded by wonderful humans, animals, and nature. Benny, his family, and the other workawayers were incredibly welcoming ~ from day one I felt like I was part of the tribe. The days were filled with shared laughs, meaningful conversations, yummy meals, learning farm skills, and plenty of goat cuddles. It felt super rewarding coming together to connect with the earth and put in work towards a meaningful vision. The land itself is absolutely gorgeous ~ mountains, jungle, fresh air, and so much wild beauty! I’ll always look back on my time here with so much love in my heart! Highly recommend to anyone wanting a wholesome, grounding, and heart-expanding experience🤎

Ich habe den ganzen Oktober auf dem Alpakahof von Christa verbracht. Das war meine erste Workaway-Erfahrung und das war ein ein Volltreffer. Wie ich schon früher geschrieben habe, mein Herbsttraum am Chiemsee mit Alpakas hat sich erfüllt:) Ich habe die Tiere täglich versorgt und somit die ein bißchen kennengelernt. Ich hatte die Möglichkeit die Alpakas bei den Wanderungen zu begleiten und die unglaubliche Nautur zu genießen. Ich hatte auch viel Zeit um die Gegen zu erkundigen und in den Chiemgauer Alpen zu wandern. Ich vermisse auch das gemeinsame Kochen und die gemütliche Gespräche beim Abendessen. Ich empfehle den Aufenthalt am Alpakahof bei Christa den Personen, die engen Kontakt zur Natur und zu Tieren suchen.

I can only try to describe the true pleasure I had staying with Barbara and Gavin for two weeks in October. The mill itself is a haven of calm and it truly feels like you're staying somewhere quite special, especially when the sun is shining. Gavin and Barbara are some of the most hospitable people I may have ever had the joy of meeting, and slotting into life at the mill was an absolute ease. After just a couple of days, it felt like a routine I had had been doing for some years. The meals together throughout each day really shine through as some of the highlights of my time there. Working at the mill at the beginning largely consisted of helping to clear the mill room itself, before moving onto various gardening activities, from tree felling, to lawn moving, to pruning roses into arches. The work never felt tiresome or boring, and after work there was always somewhere to relax and soak up the natural surroundings. I wish Barabara and Gavin all the best, and for anyone considering their workaway option at the mill, I would not hesistate to recommend it.

I have enjoyed my volunteering experience with the NGO a lot! It felt like i was truly part of the community for a month and i really got to know everybody very well. Peter and the team are extremely flexible and they really want to encourage everyones talents whether you want to work in the office or in the school. I worked 3 hours in the office and 3 hours in the school. We had a great group of international volunteers which all connected with the local staff and students very well. The staff, trainees, local volunteers and founder of the NGO are truly inspiring people with an incredible work ethic and passion for education. The students in the school show a tremendous amount of motivation and perseverance. I want to thank you Peter for your kindness, great managing skills and passion. Maybe I can be your assistant one day! 🫶

Thanks so much, Genevieve and Luc , for everything! I really enjoyed my stay with you. the food(especially the honey for my throat), the room, and really nice talk every day. As well, I loved the evening's film every evening. Thanks so much, Genevieve, for helping me with my French, especially with my pronunciation. Not so many people are there to help you with every word, and especially with my "R" :). hehe. I really enjoy staying with you, it was no more of 7/8 days, but if i could, I would come back. The job was really easy, and the instructions were easy as well. Luc is a really nice person, and he took the time to explain and brought me all the tools to make my job easy and enjoy my day more. Both, always asking if I need something or the food was ok for me, and if i slept well. Thanks so much for your amazing and positive attitude all the time. I will say, the place is perfect to disconnect with the world and connect with nice people, nature, and with yourself. Read a nice book after work or spend time doing Sudoku. :). Big hug. Rodrigo.
