Ideally we would prefer some experience and a reasonable understanding of English. Please only apply if you can stay for a minimum of 1 year.
We are a small family run Campsite and arable farm nestled in the Quantock Hills in Somerset. We have a variety of animals on site such as ponies, chickens, Guinae pigs, cats and dogs.
We are looking for help on our campsite with cleaning and maintenance.
Couple prefered.
Must be able to drive and have a license
We are open all year so January - December
Monthly payment of £1,000 each plus accommodation
Experience of towing a caravan, using a ride on lawn mower, strimmer, driving farm vehicles would be a benefit.

Aide
We would like help with the campsite such as grass cutting, cleaning tasks, caring for the animals, helping with the poly tunnel and gardening.
Knowledge and a love of animals would be beneficial. Experience of working in a group and able to use common sense to help with practical tasks.
Although we are on an arable farm, our business is focused on the campsite so this is where we need help and not with farming.
We have had a lot of enquiries from families, however, this position is more suited to friends and couples, not children, sorry!
A knowledge of cleaning, grass cutting and enjoyment of the countryside and animals would be beneficial.

The beach and hills are all within walking distance. We have bikes to borrow if needed. There is a local bus service from the top of our lane to visit 'Minehead' and 'Bridgwater.' We would be happy for Workawayers to spend days out with us as a family.
We are generally very busy on the farm and Campsite and are here most days.

Ashton came to help us in February for 1 month, however due to lockdown ended up staying for nearly 5 months. We enjoyed having Ashton around, his calm approach to any tasks, helpful attitude and willingness to help with anything needed.
We would not hesitate in recommended Aston to other hosts, 😊

We spent 8 wonderful weeks on Moorside Farm Campsite and absolutely loved our stay. The hosts immediately made us feel very welcome and were always very friendly, kind and thoughtful. The work was exactly as we imagined. Once we had finished the cleaning and rubbish round we enjoyed finding jobs to do around the site grounds and helping out where… read more we could. Simon and Helena left us to work independently but were always available if we had any queries. Our accommodation was perfect with everything we needed, we were extremely happy there! We were pleased to be able to look after the site for a week allowing the family a much deserved holiday.
For us this was a perfect placement and we would certainly recommend it to others.
Lovely family, wonderful campsite and excellent accommodation!! We were sad to leave.

Simon, Helena and the kids were super welcoming and warm, always taking us with them to their trips, having lunch together or playing in the garden. We really felt like being a part of the family.

Mark and Lisa were a huge help to us over the winter period. Duties included cleaning the toilet and shower blocks and refuse collection. Also checking customers in and working alongside us on the campsite.

Working with Simon & Helena was a great experience. We were going to arrive earlier than expected and we were graciously allowed to camp until our Workaway formally started, which helped us out enormously. The accommodation is great and it's like your own little piece of privacy within the campsite, and all needs were catered for. Work… read more expectations were clearly laid out and nothing was too much trouble. Our duties included some light maintenance, mowing grass, emptying and sorting refuse bins/areas, cleaning and replenishing toilet/shower blocks, helping customers with wood for BBQ's, being point of contact when owners were absent, helping customers with queries and being friendly to ensure a good experience was had by visitors.
We ended up staying for 6 months during the campsite off-season and winter - the area is picturesque and on waking up one morning to a blanket of snow was wonderful. Helping out with moving the horses, feeding the hens and guinea pigs, the occasional dog sitting. We were pleased to help out this lovely family and were happy that they were able to take time out for breaks and holidays and felt happy that we were entrusted to be responsible in their absence with the day to day running of the site.
Both Simon & Helena are super friendly and I especially miss our chats over coffee around the aga (traditional kitchen oven), not forgetting some of the scrumptious cake!! For us this Workaway opened our eyes to life on a campsite and we actually moved on to a more formal paid position a few miles down the road, so for that also we will be eternally grateful. Was also great to bump into the family again, and see their smiling faces, down were we moved too.
The area itself typifies life in the English Countryside and the views of the Quantocks are fabulous.
This is a great Workaway and couldn't recommend it highly enough really. We really did feel appreciated all the time we were there.

We had such a wonderful time volunteering for Simon and Helena! They are incredibly kind and generous hosts who always made us welcome and comfortable. The accommodation is spectacular (the best we’ve experienced on Workaway). The work is easy and straightforward, we were on a regular morning schedule cleaning the campsite bathrooms and collecting… read more the rubbish, and we also helped out with some bigger projects. The campsite is in a beautiful area of rural Somerset with plenty of woodland and seaside nature to explore. We were never bored with Simon and Helena, there’s always something fun going on. The girls are lovely, and we had a great time getting to know them and looking after them around the farm.
We can’t recommend this workaway highly enough :)
