Staying here was a big highlight in my life, everyone here was amazing tbh Simge, Efe, Hakan, Teoman, and my absolutely lovely boss Abla, the job is very easy, the people are amazing, the vibes are great, i feel so bad to leave but I'm happy i came, this place will always be a part of me, and If you're a volunteer reading this, you'd be lucky to be accepted here honestly. I've done 6 workaways so far and this one is definitely one of the absolute best I've had. I love you all, thanks for having me! Until we meet again!!

Chiara was a fantastic volunteer and helped us immensely with the daily routine of caring for the animals at the shelter. With her energy, good humour and love for animals, she quickly and easily learned and carried out with ease the daily routine of cleaning, feeding and watering the animals. She also took the initiative to take the dogs for walks in the fields around the shelter, not only one but as many as she could! . This was something the dogs loved, and so they loved her too. Chiara is very responsible and extremely communicative. She reacts calmly to urgent situations and is a well-balanced person. She has an open personality and adapts to all situations. She never complained about anything and shared her adventures with us when she explored the beaches of Halkidiki! I must admit that some of them were quite funny! We would gladly host her again and again. She is a person who loves animals and really wants to help. We recommend her unreservedly to every host.

Kyle did a super job for us, lots of grounds-keeping and painting. He really removed the stress that we were under getting ready for a large celebration. Kyle is a very sociable, interesting and entertaining guy and it was a real pleasure to have him around.

I had a wonderful time with Nelly and Stefano. The village of Apricale looks magical from their property. I learned so much during my stay with them—various gardening skills and culinary techniques that I still use to this day. There are also many places to visit in the area, including charming nearby villages and the Ligurian Alps.

I only spent a week here but wish I could have stayed longer! The guesthouse is beautiful and in a great location near the mountains and the sea. It's lovely to have the cats and dogs around, and the guests and other volunteers offered great conversation, there were so many people from different walks of life. The work was reasonable and varied, and you have a lot of autonomy. You have enough spare time to go to the beach, walk or run around the local streets, and Petr even took us up a mountain for sunset one evening! Petr was super communicative and picked me up from the train station! I would love to come back for a longer time sometime in the future!

I was planning to stay with Andres for a week or so while I was travelling around Spain; I ended up staying two and a half weeks at the finca, it really is a place that never gets boring! This is a really good spot for people who enjoy a quiet, relaxed environment and being able to independently organise your work and activities as most of the work included daily tasks such as watering the plants and weeding. I also helped Andres with several projects inside and out of the finca which included gardening, reparations and renovation work. We usually managed to pair this with outings to the beach which was really a highlight! There are lots of incredible hikes you can do starting in the village if you don't have a car, and I would also recommend going kayaking or visiting Cangas de Onís if you have transport. During my time there Andres was relatively busy but he always made sure we had everything we needed and has very good communication, checking in on us frequently. I really appreciated the time that I did spend with him as he is a very interesting and interested person who told us many things about the region and helped me to improve my Spanish a lot through Spanish conversation. I really hope to come back to explore more of Asturias and find out how the finca is doing!

Marjorie stayed with us 13 days and was wonderful. She was kind, respectful and really hard working. She helped us cleaned and organized the basement, helped with the kitchen renovations and many other tasks. She's also extremely good with kids. Our daughter loves her so much. And we love her too so Marjorie, if you ever come back to our region, feel free to stay with us anytime. Until then, enjoy your summer in Gaspésie and safe travel back home when the time comes.

My friends and I spent a week working at the farm and it was such an incredible experience. Everyone, Fabrizio, Sebas, Piña and Fernando were always lovely and taught us so much about farming with so much patience and kindness, they shared a lot of their stories and were always a pleasure to be around. The work is very interesting (and fun!) we got to plant new seeds, work in the greenhouse and with the animals. The town of Valencia is so fun and lively and only a 10 minute walk from la finca. We loved it so much we recommended it to our friends too!

I spent a week at Leif's house in March. It was a really good experience, even though the weather wasn't great at that time. Leif Henry is always eager to help you discover real life in northern Norway and is happy to show you the activities available in Grov. While I was there, I mostly did cleaning and cooking, as everything was still covered in snow. Sorry for the late feedback, I forgot to write it right away. I can only recommend Leif's place if you're looking for a great experience and amazing landscapes.

Claire is a wonderfull lady, full of energy! She was always with a smile and looking forward to help in every possible task: with the sheep, with papper work, with gardening, house keeping… She and her daugter spent a week with us, and we enjoyed every little moment with them! Her daughter is super sweet and a strong girl! She helped me doing some vet stuff with the sheep, with lots of care. They were kind with everyone and every animal on the farm. They can come back to the farm every time they want!

Sanne and Joachim are great people! they welcomed me not only to their house bit also their friendgroup and tours in generel. the caravan is lovely to stay in, super cozy and warm.. I work mostly with stonewall, but they are very attentive to yout wishes also when it comes to work. In generel they take their host role very serious and that it is an exchange, a way if meeting others, more than simply workforce. the meals was great, you had privacy also and the area is super beautiful with views of the the pico de europa! highly recommend these guys, they are awesome !

It was such a pleasure having Theo here. He was very punctual, completed every task perfectly and helped us in every way he can. What more joyful than his work was his friendship and all the laughs he gave us. He is not a volunteer but a brother to us at this point. Thank you for everything Taha. I hope life brings you good luck and good luck only. You have a family in Turkey now. Missing you already!

I'm really grateful for the experience of staying with Karim and Youness and helping with natural building project. They're very hospitable and taking care of all the needs of volunteers, helping them to discover the history and culture of the place. I learned a lot about mud bricks technique, how it is used in local building works and how climate change is pushing people to adapt. Karim was truly conscious about hours and moments during the day of work as temperature on Sahara can by really demanding. So we were mostly working in the morning, and then after a lunch break had time to discover place on our own or join for some place that Karim wanted to show us. Once we even went to swim in a lake! Lake in between Sahara's dunes was unbelievable experience, thank you ♥️ I'm happy I could be a part of that project, as I discovered place from local perspective and connect with amazing people during my stay.

I'm a positive and happy person so it's not easy to leave a bad review so this review ( spoiler alert ) is an amazing and honest review of a wonderful gem of a place located in an authentic French countryside. I've been in France for maybe soon to be two months and had many experiences but this Workaway experience with Caroline is life changing and will be among my treasured memories here in France. First off the host... Caroline is a great communicator who replies daily so that's a huge plus in planning. Also I felt really welcome and reassured the instance we met. She is a positive person and really easy going. As gen z people will say it, she living in 2050. In normal language it means she is a visionary and innovator. For example a typical host wants to know what the volunteer can do and what skills he has. But Caroline is wanting to find out what the volunteer wants to do and to empower them to do that. So the roles are somewhat reversed. She believes in the beauty of co existence and learning from nature. A life not about money but about something deeper…. maybe flowers or tea The work … for me personally I felt I did not have to work a single hour a single day I was there. What the volunteer is invited to do is to join her in her daily activities. It could be foraging or walking her dogs near some pristine lakes. If you’re tired or feel like doing nothing you can just tell her and you get the day/afternoon off. Personally there’s too much fun stuff to do I didn’t use that option at all. So three things I did while I was there was making a mini watercolor/fire art exhibition of sorts, paint/wrap the trees with natural paint/fabrics for an event, and making a nice bamboo structure for drying the indigo leaves. If you’re into fashion or fabrics, this gotta be the best Workaway as you’ll learn a lot about dyeing and indigo and fabrics. I’ve spent hours ( > 50 ) searching for creative Workaways and shortlisting them so basically it felt like I was in an art residency not a Workaway which is amazing ! The food … food was really good. I love to cook and it’s a huge delight to cook in her house. There a huge variety of different fresh/dried/preserved herbs/vegetables/meats that you can broil, roast, poach, baste and most importantly leave raw. Caroline forages a lot so I’ve learnt to use a lot of raw vegetables and herbs and flowers in the foods I prepare and to leave them raw. It’s like sushi but for the vegetables. So my cooking philosophy has changed. Also if you’re a tea lover, this place gotta be the number 1 Workaway for you. Location… it’s a nice place with lots of stone building and vineyards. Nice cake and ice cream shops nearby. Is good and French. About an hour away I went to some lake with amazing blue waters and some white clay banks that you can have a mud bath. Was one of my highlights of my trip. Also an hour away is Bordeaux which is my favourite city so far. Accommodations… there’s two mid sized dogs Oita and Aimee, and two cats. If you like animals you’ll love them. House is amazing. I love exploring abandoned houses so this feels like what it you had an artist living in one. It’s a beautiful balance of soul and art and creativity and not overly manicured. The floors have great textures and undulating experiences. Caroline has guests who are always so polite and will try to speak to you in English. She does not prefer to have more than one volunteer at a time but I was so happy to meet this Austrian girl who was hilarious and sure a pure and genuine soul. I saw fireworks, ate off handcrafted ceramics and surrounded but art and animal fur all in this wonderful space. And she has another amazing garden where she grows indigo and a huge shed. Those are like the Wild West, it’s full of opportunities for you to develop and leave your mark. If you’ve read this far just apply and don’t hesitate. If you’re lucky enough you will get chosen and to Caroline a HUGE thank you.
