Description
We have opened our guest-house and yoga retreat located in the village Shroma in Guria, Georgia in June2024. It took us and our friends and volunteers (people from all around the world) a little less then 2 years to bring new life to an old abandoned village farm house.
Our core project team is 4 people, we have been living in Georgia for over 4 years and guess we understand the way it works here and will be happy to guide you about the work and the life in the village. We also have 10 cats and 4 dogs.
We are looking for people to help us operate the guest house: housekeeping, cleaning, gardening and cooking for our team.
And in return we offer: accommodation in shared dorm room or in the tent, 3 vegetarian meals per day, amazing sunsets almost every evening and our community time with like-minded people by the fire place or on our terrace, where we tell stories, play board games etc.

You can learn about Georgian village life and local traditions, develop the knowledge of DIY construction and gardening and benefit from our joint meals and community gatherings by the fireplace where people from around the world share their life stories, play board games and have fun.

Batumi is 1 hour drive, Ozurgeti and Poti 30 minutes drive, beach is 20 minutes drive and Bahmaro mountain 1 hour. We have 2 cars in our property and happy to give a ride when time allows otherwise local mini-buses or hitchhiking are always a good option to get to some point.

I had a lovely time staying in Shroma. The community is awesome and there's always work to do, be it on the property, in the house or the kitchen. During my three-week-stay, I cooked often for up to 20 people and helped with the woodwork. I learned a lot and I'm grateful for this experience with all its intensity.

Lucas and Alex are nice people and good volunteers that spent with us 1 week. They have worked in the garden and in the kitchen and a little on construction site and they did all very well. Lisa & Misha stayed with us in yearly March and did help a lot in our project. Starting from quite nasty job as cleaning the garbage on the adjoining territory, followed by further sorting of ths garbage for recycling, dissembling collapsing house, cooking meals and then cleaning the house – they all did great and we felt little sorry they left …… read more

We stayed in this workaway for 2 weeks and loved it. We were many volunteers at the same time which created a small community of people all working together. This place is cool! I was here during the very early stages of this project and only for a short time, but I worked with Nikita and Anna on a different project for 3 months and they are the best!
