I won the lottery for landing this as my first workaway experience. It was truly spectacular and Chantal and Leon and Aurélien were truly wonderful. Chantal took me on a picnic with a million dollar view of Gavarnie, she took me to valleys and scenic villages. She took all the volunteers to Spain over four amazing passes. It just seemed like
… read more everyday was extra special. Aurélien cooked us fabulous meals, the waitresses were kind and put up with my sorry lack of French. The hills nearby are steep and hikes and trails are found in every nook and cranny. I hiked to lac de Gaube and then back home again. I hiked with Denis to lac Estom. All of this was absolutely fantastic. I loved helping in the kitchen too.
I lost my father during my stay and everyone was very understanding. The kindness from strangers was amazing and I felt that Chantal and Leon were part of my family.
I heartily recommend a stay in this extraordinary place!

Quelle ambiance dans cette ferme ! Nous avons passé 3 semaines la-haut au cœur de ces hautes-Pyrénées qu'on ne sera pas prêt d'oublier : des tâches très variées (étiquetage, entretien du jardin & coupe d'arbres [avec notre cher Lucky Luke !], épluchage de légumes...et toujours réalisées dans la bonne humeur. Beth Anne est restée avec nous pendant un mois pendant une période des Fêtes très chargée. En plus de m’aider à décorer notre restaurant et magasin, elle a géré et rangé notre boutique artisanale et amélioré la fonctionnalité de notre résidence et de notre entreprise. Beth Anne a maximisé l’espace dans notre sous-sol de restaurant, mis de l’ordre dans notre bureau, créé des systèmes d’accès efficaces pour notre cuisine industrielle et mis à jour cinq Armoires pour fonctionner comme des espaces de rangement bien organisés. Julie and I had a great experience here! Chantal, Leon and Aurelien were very welcoming and friendly. It was a lot of fun to learn about the traditional cuisine of the midi-pyrenees, which we were both unfamiliar with... helping in the kitchen was a lot of fun and we became crepe-making masters during our time there!

… read more outdoor enthusiasts as well, so we cannot say enough about the opportunities we got to spend time in the mountains running, skiing and hiking- it was a blast and the views were unlike anything we have ever seen before.
