Roos and Alwin stayed with me at the ranch for a week, and honestly… they were amazing. From the very first day, they blended in effortlessly and helped wherever they could, always with a calm, positive and respectful attitude. They supported me with a wide range of tasks: painting and building projects, cleaning up after the horses, weeding and general land maintenance, cleaning and organising and jumping in wherever help was needed. What I appreciated most is that they don’t wait to be told what to do — they see what needs to be done and simply do it. They work independently just as well as together, and everything they touch is done with care and attention. Roos brings a very gentle, thoughtful and warm energy, combined with a strong work ethic. Alwin is calm, reliable and practical, and together they form a really balanced, grounded team. Communication was easy, clear and open, and having them around felt light, respectful and harmonious. On top of all that, they are just genuinely lovely people to have around: kind, trustworthy, considerate and easy-going. I felt completely comfortable leaving things in their hands. I truly loved having them here and would welcome them back anytime without hesitation. Any host would be lucky to have Roos and Alwin! I can recommend them 100% from the heart.

Max is a very confident, talented young man interested in and good at loads of different things. With our Workawayers, it’s not just their willingness and quality of work that matters but also their contribution socially round the supper table. Max delivers on all counts – bright, knowledgeable, likes reading, and as a top-level tennis player, in top notch physical shape. On the work front, he was a dab hand with his phone, looking up all sorts of things including putting a bed together without having the instructions and opening a swimming pool. He patiently used our Kircher, cleaning masses of winter dirt off the stone paving surrounding the pool and the courtyard. He was up ladders hacking back vines from the gutters, He heaped logs on the wood pile, and cut back hedges, brambles and dead branches, contributing to two huge bonfires. He was very appreciative of our cooking – talking a lot about food and drink! He’s very much the kind of guy who will go places. We wish him a great future. He’s very welcome to come back anytime.

Living nearby, I came to help at Sabine's place punctually, and I can only recommend! Sabine and her family are wonderfully kind people :) Already on my short stay there I started to learn a new skill, the place is peaceful and I ate delicious things :))

Durante il suo soggiorno si è presa cura dei nostri cani con grande affetto e attenzione, dedicandosi alle passeggiate e al loro benessere quotidiano. In casa è stata molto ordinata, rispettosa degli spazi comuni e sempre pronta ad aiutare quando ce n'era bisogno. Si è mostrata disponibile, collaborativa e gentile durante tutta l'esperienza. Ha apprezzato la nostra zona, i mercati locali e i luoghi che le abbiamo consigliato di visitare, mostrando curiosità e interesse per il territorio. Inoltre, ci ha preparato un'ottima cena che abbiamo molto gradito. È stata sempre molto gentile con i nostri bambini e ha contribuito a creare un'atmosfera serena e piacevole in famiglia. Nel complesso ci siamo trovati bene con lei e la consigliamo come ospite e come aiuto in casa e con gli animali.

Marzia and Tomasso were an absolute dream team. They followed directions exceptionally well while also bringing their own valuable ideas and creativity to the project. They adapted easily to changes, showed great initiative, and were always resourceful when faced with challenges. One of their biggest contributions was organizing my entire Google Drive, creating order and structure that will continue to benefit the project long after their stay. They treated the property with care and respect, as if it were their own home, and they were genuinely kind, pleasant people to have around. I asked them to create social media content, and they delivered exactly what I was looking for—and much more. They took their responsibilities seriously, maintained excellent communication, and regularly reported on their progress so I could easily follow what was being accomplished. I would not hesitate to host them again. Any host would be lucky to have Marzia and Tomasso as volunteers. Highly recommended.

I just got back from my first workaway experience with Louise and I couldn’t have wished for a better stay! Louise & Abby were super welcoming and I loved that they included me in their day to day life - i really felt like part of the family :) The work is very reasonable and super rewarding. It’s a good mix of chores around the animals like feeding, mucking out stables, brushing and lots of cuddles! I also got to do some groundwork with the horses which was definitely one of my highlights. Around the farm I got to help with planting vegetables, lots of gardening and weeding and general maintenance to keep the place nice and tidy. Louise is very patient and specific with explaining everything so it’s easy to get into the tasks and she’s always happy to answer any questions. The animals will forever have a special place in my heart. Each one has a unique personality and I still have a huge smile on my face when I think about Tuxedo finding me anywhere on the farm to get his daily cuddles. Being greeted by 3 dogs everyday was so lovely and seeing the horses in the field from the kitchen window was an absolute dream for me. Like so many here have said before, every dinner was amazing. We even got to taste the first courgette of the year! I also really enjoyed the routine with fixed lunch and dinner times that gave me loads of energy even on very hot days working in the sun (paired with afternoon naps at the river :)). Confolens itself has a lot to offer: from going to the movies, cafés and restaurants to swimming in the river and going on beautiful walks to Saint Germain. I’m so grateful that I got to enjoy the backyard of my dreams for a while! Thank you for everything Louise & Abby! Miss you already and hope to be back really soon! Sending love from Berlin, Laura

I had an amazing experience staying with this family for two weeks through Workaway. From the first day, they made me feel very welcome and comfortable. Lenka is a kind and inspiring person, and I really enjoyed learning about her natural garden and daily life. The work in the garden was enjoyable and rewarding, and I appreciated the opportunity to learn new things, especially about plants and sustainability. Zuzka and Michael are also very friendly and respectful. It was a pleasure spending time with them and sharing conversations about culture and daily life. The place is peaceful, surrounded by beautiful nature, perfect for relaxing and reconnecting. I also loved the activities like walking and enjoying the countryside. Overall, it was a great cultural exchange experience. I highly recommend this family to any Workawayer looking for a meaningful and friendly stay. Thank you again for everything!

It was a pleasure hosting Tristan and Sara..! For 2 weeks they helped out in the farm with many tasks. Each task was done with much care and done well - they take pride in doing a great job. We spent time exchanging experiences and stories of our travels. 2 weeks went by too fast - but if you ever come this way again, you are welcome to the farm again.. your village in Malaysia. This couple is is highly recommended..!

It was a real pleasure to host Sarah in the Valley, she showed a real enthusiasm for the natural environment and all its wonders and our interactions always left me smiling. We shared some really deep and insightful conversations and I took inspiration from what she shared. I trusted Sarah with some important tasks and projects to attend to and she showed great commitment and attitude. I was also very pleased to receive professional photo's of the land, Sarah being a keen photographer. Thanks again Sarah and you're welcome to return anytime!

Jakub and Ewa hosted and worked with us in our home and garden. They are very hardworking, diligent people, and eager to learn new tasks. They were also open to spending time together and are musically talented, which made my time enjoyable. They prepared delicious meals several times and took care of our dog. Leonie and I stayed over two weeks at Nikki and Nathan's lovely place in Nelson. From the beginning, they made us feel really comfortable around their property. Communicating with them was really easy and we could manage our workings hours as we wished (and their work expectations were really clear). The sleepout was absolutely fantastic, big, warm and clean. Sharing time, especially dinner, with them, was always a pleasure. We recommend staying with Nikki and Nathan for sure ! ps : I'll miss your cat Chipie :)

Nelli integrated into our team immediately and showed remarkable initiative from the very beginning. She partnered with another volunteer and independently conducted individual English lessons, demonstrating both confidence and responsibility. She was highly proactive, creative, and enthusiastic in her work. Nelli is deeply passionate about environmental protection and enjoys sharing her knowledge with others, especially children. Despite her extensive knowledge, she remained humble, approachable, and always willing to educate and inspire. The children greatly enjoyed spending time with her and responded very positively to her lessons and activities. Nelli made a meaningful contribution to our school, and we are grateful for her dedication and positive energy and we would be happy to welcome her back any time.

Clara is just incredible! I don't have enough words to express how good human she is. I came just for a weekend and I felt like I am a part of the family. She lives in a simple house, but full of heart for others. She takes amazing care of the animals and also plants, and she has an artictic soul. During my stay I took the dogs for a walk and planted some seeds, hopefully there will become nice garden trees in few years, let's see ;) I enjoyed going together to Montalto and getting to know her friends, family and dreams. Definitely, I recommend you to visit Clara, I will come there with pleasure again, maybe then it will be already in the dreamed house in Montalto :)

Thank you so much for everything! My stay in Finsterwalde was peaceful and comfortable. Vicky's family makes you feel welcome and makes sure you feel at home. They enjoy sharing daily meals, and if you'd like to try local cuisine, they can certainly offer you their specialty: Hackepeterbrötchen- meat balls. The chores are easy, such as walking Bubba-the dog, helping with household tasks (cooking, cleaning, and gardening), and spending quality time with Klaus—having good conversations and playing Mensch ärgere Dich nicht. If you want to practice your German and are looking for a quiet place with a local German family, this is the perfect spot. Danke schön für alles :) Vllt sehen wir uns wieder!

My stay in Keelungworkation was very interesting and constructive, as the tasks are generally varied. If you're interested in marketing, tourism, and local culture, it's an ideal place to have a great time. Furthermore, the online system that they use to notify and organize daily tasks is very useful, as it has clear instructions for carrying out the different tasks for the volunteers. On the other hand, Keelung is a unique place where you can enjoy local food, hiking trails, and unique landscape near the sea. Finally, the host, Mila, is friendly and attentive. She responds quickly to any questions you may have and guides you clearly through the daily tasks. Thank you so much for everything! See you next time!

Abbiamo trascorso un periodo meraviglioso con Monica e la sua famiglia a Lucca. Fin dal primo giorno ci hanno fatto sentire i benvenuti e parte della famiglia. Abbiamo condiviso pasti, conversazioni e tanti momenti speciali insieme. La loro casa è bellissima e il tempo trascorso con loro ci ha permesso di vivere un’autentica esperienza della vita familiare italiana. Abbiamo visitato l’Italia molte volte nel corso degli anni perché amiamo questo Paese, ma questo soggiorno è stato davvero speciale per noi. È stato molto più di un semplice viaggio: ci siamo sentiti accolti come membri della famiglia. Il nostro soggiorno è stato principalmente incentrato sullo scambio culturale piuttosto che sul lavoro. Una delle esperienze che abbiamo apprezzato di più è stata cucinare piatti giapponesi per la famiglia e condividere la nostra cultura attraverso il cibo. Abbiamo imparato molto gli uni dagli altri e abbiamo trascorso momenti davvero piacevoli insieme. Ci siamo resi conto che avremmo dovuto studiare di più l’italiano prima del nostro soggiorno, ma questa esperienza ci ha motivato ancora di più a continuare a imparare e a migliorare le nostre competenze linguistiche. Grazie, Tommaso, Monica, Susanna, ai vostri genitori e a tua sorella per averci fatto sentire parte della vostra famiglia. Ci mancate già e speriamo di rivedervi presto!
