I had an amazing time at the farm and wish I could've stayed longer if I didn't have a flight already booked. I visited early in cacao season and it wasn't in full swing quite yet, we broke open cacao pods and the rest of the work was related to general farm upkeep like watering construction areas, taking care of the dogs and cow, chopping wood etc. Mukunth organises the volunteers and does a great job planning out what everyone will be doing and is super receptive to feedback. Mayoor is a wealth of knowledge about all things fermentation as well as having lots of tips for the local area. The accommodation is basic but good, especially now with the mosquito nets on the beds! Food is generally pretty good as well. I hope to return again some day to see cacao season in full swing

We had a really great time with Johanna and Stig, and all of the team ! We felt really welcomed and at ease from the very beginning. The place is beautiful, peaceful, and really confortable, there is a very nice atmosphere between the different people (volunteers, staff, family, etc.), and the classes are in small groups, with students who are rather eager to learn. Their project is meaningful and done with a lot of sincerity. The town of Acacias does not have a lot of charm but is easily accessible, with lots of shops, restaurants, etc, and the surroundings are beautiful (waterfalls, rivers, excursions in the wild, ..) with many things to do and explore. To conclude ; a huge thanks to Stig and Johanna and to the rest of the Colombian team, we recommend this place ;) !!

Amazing time with Paul and Yvonne. They have a beautiful property and even more beautiful energy as hosts. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and included as part of the team. Working alongside them was such a rewarding experience. Their permaculture garden is inspiring, and we learned so much about sustainable living, planting techniques, and working in harmony with nature. They are both incredibly knowledgeable and always happy to share what they know. The donkeys were an absolute highlight, gentle, funny, and full of personality. Spending time with them made the whole experience even more special. Call out to doggos Eidevitis an Titatous for guiding us around the farm.

I spent four weeks on the farm, and it was a good experience. I was able to spend time with the horses and learn more about them and how to handle them. Although they are large animals, they are friendly and curious. The farm is close to the city and well connected, so it is easy to go to Leipzig or other nearby regions. I had plenty of free time, time for myself. I was the first volunter to stay in a cozy trailer, with a fireplace that made everything feel comfortable when the weather was cold. The daily tasks were simple, such as cleaning the stables, changing the horses’ water, and so on. Overall, I had a good experience and spent a very nice time on the farm.

Ale is my first Workaway host and has provided me with an amazing farm experience in Sciacca! (my "farm life in Sicily" dream-come-true!!) Even I was a bit last-minute and could not stay for too long. It was so nice to get connected to the plants, trees , his soap museum and his friends in Sciacca. And of course we had super interesting conversations from permaculture, to emotional growth, to "decolonising" talks hahaha. Thank you Ale and I look forward to coming back in summer!

I feel so lucky to have Lahcen as my host in Morocco. He is super kind, friendly, openminded and helpful, always willing to help his volunteers. Assa is a beautiful, lovely and peaceful city with lovely people. The students are always willing to learn. They are angels:) I'm so sorry about leaving early because of some personal stuff. Thank you Lahcen! Thank you all the other volunteers Camila, Sarah, Juba, Maxim... It's a lovely experience with you guys:)

I'll try to be as honest as possible, because I wish I'd known all this before arriving. It turns out there are two different locations, one belonging to Branca and the other to Antonio, which I was unaware of due to a lack of communication, and description is not updated. Most volunteers end up at Antonio's, who has a huge estate surrounded by extensive forest. Unfortunately, regular hunting takes place on the estate, and the hunters eat their meals there. Volunteers live separately and work with the staff four hours a day, six days a week. The work consists mainly of helping with renovations and cleaning; it's not easy work, nor is it safe. Volunteering doesn't have much of a cultural or social aspect. I didn't have much contact with the owners, mainly with the staff. Only towards the end did I speak with Antonio, who suggested I leave after I disapproved of his behavior towards another volunteer. I left after one week.

Silas is a sporty, warm-hearted young man whose presence was a great asset to our daily routines. We especially appreciated how he introduced us to vegan cooking—cooking delicious meals, sharing recipes on seitan and spreads. Beyond that, Silas took on the role of a big brother to our children. He played football with them, joined in on geocaching adventures, showed them how to play pool billiard, went on bike rides, and participated in board games. During his two-week stay, he also lend a hand with chores, helping us clean out the barn and tend to the garden—which was great help. Silas is an open-hearted person, always eager to learn and grow, just like we all hope to do. We had many meaningful and deep conversations with him, and truly valued his openness to exchange thoughts. We wish him all the very best and already miss the lively conversations and football matches.

Michelle was a joy to have in our home. She is kind, thoughtful, and easy to chat with. She is very detail oriented and attentive. Her stay needed to be extended and we had no issue with accommodating as she was so helpful, easy going, and meshed well with our family

It’s not easy to find the right words to describe our two months in Portugal; perhaps that’s why we waited until now to write this review. We hoped that, with the passage of time, we’d be able to better process all the gratitude and happiness we brought back from our experience, but in reality, that wasn’t the case. Now, as I write this message, six months later, I still feel a strange sensation in my stomach, I still can't believe it was all real. I don’t think there’s much more to add, it was two wonderful months. We fell in love with Aljezur and, above all, with Nimea, Paolo, Edo, Vichy, Oceano, and Deva, who have a special place in our hearts where we’ll cherish them forever. If you’re still thinking about it… Go for it!! A magical place and wonderful people are waiting for you! P.S. Ci mancate moltissimo, torneremo presto!

Hedayah is an incredible person and one of the best volunteers we've had here at our guesthouse. Always willing, proactive, responsible, communicative. She did an excellent job in her volunteer assignments, but also helped with other tasks thanks to her willingness, and dedication. We are immensely grateful for all the affection, contribution, and exchanges we experienced. Know that our doors will always be open to welcome her back. I highly recommend her to all hosts!

Staying with Don Héctor in Chicxulub was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. The place is so peaceful and the garden is so beautiful with so many places to relax, the swimming pool also was perfect for hot days :) I found the work really interesting and rewarding too, learning such an ancient craft and using it to fix the homes of the elders was amazing, and really fun! We'd often work together with music on and I'd get lost in the work and didn't even notice the hours passing. I'd highly recommend this workaway, I'll look back at it for the rest of my life as a wonderful time with great people, thanks Don Héctor!

We had the opportunity to meet a very special young man, respectful, affectionate, and mischievous, named Hugo from France. We shared daily life with him for 24 days. As a family, we thank you for your cooperation in the activities of working on the plot of land; and also for radiating joy and youthful energy, just like the volunteers who have made such a lasting impact. Hugo, wherever you go, we wish you much success! Jorge and Egla

Klara and Simon were the perfect workaways.
As well as being nice people who were interested in permaculture, they both worked very hard and completed all the tasks that were set.
They were keen to learn about how we worked on the land.
The jobs were mainly composting our trees using our organic fertiliser, clearing, cutting grass, raking, doing the orange fruit harvest. They used their initiative and were good at working independently. We had a great week with them chatting about life and learning about their world travels. They would be an asset to anyone who hosts them .

Christelle was wonderful, so helpful, fun, friendly she did more than I would have asked for and has great initiative, she anticipated what needed doing and did everything very well, I was constantly surprised to find that she had done things for me that I didn't ask for that were super helpful and kind, I wish and hope the world treats her as kindly as she treats others .
