  Description

  Ciao! My name is Iacopo, a winemaker living near Todi, a charming and peaceful town in the heart of Umbria. I manage an indipendent winery in a tiny village called Doglio, surrounded by rolling hills, vineyards, and the beautiful Umbrian countryside.
  
  Hosting on Workaway for me is not just about work, but about sharing the place and the life I truly love with people who come from far away. I believe that the best experiences are born from everyday life: vineyards, wine, food, conversations, and nature.
  
  I’m looking for curious and passionate helpers who are interested in wine, viticulture, and rural life, as well as in welcoming guests and visitors. The busiest periods are harvest, pruning, and tastings, but everyday life here offers many different experiences, from the vineyard and the cellar to welcoming guests and sharing simple moments in the kitchen.
  
  You’ll have a place to stay and some shared meals, and in return, we’ll share more than just work: the love for organic viticulture, the joy of tasting good wine, and the authentic lifestyle of Umbria. It’s an opportunity to be part of a small community, connect with the land, and truly experience Italian countryside life.

  Our area is truly special: gentle hills, lush woods, and historic towns like Perugia, Spello, Bevagna, Montefalco, Todi, Spoleto, and Orvieto make every walk feel like a journey back in time. Life here moves slowly, and you can really feel the authenticity of the Umbrian countryside.
  
  For those curious to learn, I can teach you how to manage an organic vineyard and make natural wine, step by step. It’s a chance to get close to the land, the seasons, and vineyard work, learning through hands-on experience.
  
  I would also love to improve my English, so I’m happy to do a language exchange: I’ll teach you Italian, and you can help me with English. It’s a fun and practical way to share culture, work, and daily life in our beautiful region.

  Aide

  I welcome boys and girls (ideally aged 20–35) who are genuinely interested in wine, viticulture and winemaking, and curious to experience everyday life at a small, independent winery.
  
  During the year I look for help in specific periods and I’m mainly interested in two different types of profiles, depending on the season and the person.
  
  Wine tasting & winery hospitality
  Support with wine tastings and welcoming visitors. A genuine interest in wine is essential, as well as good confidence in English. Previous experience (wine tastings, WSET or similar) is welcome, but curiosity, motivation and attitude matter most. Depending on the period, this role may also include small supportive tasks in the winery, around the house and in the kitchen.
  
  Vineyard & cellar
  Practical activities in the vineyard and cellar, such as seasonal tasks, pruning, harvest and basic cellar operations. This is real agricultural activity, sometimes physical, and best suited to people who enjoy being outdoors and learning by doing. Depending on the period, small supportive tasks around the house and in the kitchen may also be included.
  
  If you feel comfortable with both roles, we can discuss together a more flexible arrangement, depending on the period and your experience.
  
  I provide accommodation and we often share meals together. During the experience you’ll have the chance to taste the wines and learn more about vineyard work, winemaking and the local wine culture.
  
  Work hours are paid in accordance with Italian law, with an hourly rate at least equal to the applicable minimum wage.
  Different arrangements are available and are discussed and agreed upon individually, depending on the period and experience.

  Hébergement

  Helpers will have a private room or shared room in the house, with access to shared bathrooms and common areas. Breakfast and some meals will be shared together. Wi-Fi is available.

  Visit Umbria in your free time, share wine, food and music after work. During quieter periods, remote workers are welcome, when the rhythm is more relaxed.
  
  Any background in vineyards or wineries, and WSET studies, can be a nice extra.
