I was a house and animal sitter for this lovely family for a few days. I spent a couple of days with them before they left for their trip. … read more introduced to some friends and family who were all incredibly generous and friendly, and again patient with my bad German! The place is very nice and comfortable and it is easy to go by bike to the nearest town or to the forest. There is a lot to learn about the history and heritage of the area. I feel so incredibly grateful for the experience I had with Cynthia and her lovely girls. They welcomed me into their family and community and I met so many wonderful people like their friends and grandparents. They all taught me about their life in this part of the world, sharing with me their amazing food, Christmas traditions, and funny

I was able to help out with whatever worked for me, like some gardening, painting, cooking, helping the girls with English homework, playing games, walking the dogs, chasing the escaped rabbits, all of which didn’t feel like work at all to me, it was just so much fun. I was able to listen to Allegra’s beautiful piano and bake funny cakes with the girls, and even meet tiny new rabbits. They took me along with them on day trips to a really interesting museum and to the Bastei for a walk.
I was invited to come along with Cynthia to the school that she teaches at and help in the English classes. This experience was amazing for me, especially speaking with the students about my home and theirs, I learnt so much.
I had such a fun time and felt so comfortable in their beautiful home, they were so welcoming and Cynthia and Tina had the best advice and stories. This was an experience I’ll treasure forever, I’m glad I met you ! X GraceVous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

It has been a pleasure to host Grace. She was wonderful in teaching English to my daughters. Always eager to play a game or do some art with them. She helped me preparing the garden for winter time and baked delicious apple crumble for all of us. We absolutly loved to get to know her. It was so much fun!

Alicia helped with painting omy daughter's room, gave English and piano lessons, and we had some the fun board game nights that made our time together truly unforgettable. We appreciate her kindness and will miss her dearly. She connected perfectly with the girls, and they will cherish the memories forever. Thank you for everything!

… read more exchange for someone who can be alone or has many hobbies or interests to do outside of work. I also went to Berlin 3 or 4 times for day trips during my stay, which was really lovely. Carla and Beder have been the perfect guests. It was very funny having them around. They played with the children and teached them how to sew.. I stayed at Cynthia’s place for 2 weeks during the summer. She lives with her young daugthers in a beautiful natural reservation. Cynthia is really respectful of your own private space and of your time: I had a room for myself and plenty of time to visit the area which is full of canals that you can visit by canoe and it’s really amazing! I appreciated that she won’t make you do things you don’t like: she is really opened to any kind of help depending on your skills. There’s a lot to do both in the house and in the garden depending on one’s preferences. I really lived in the German way, spending time with her family, her friends and talking a lot with her about how life works there. This way we improved our language skills and learned new things about our cultures. Giulia stayed with us for 2 weeks this summer and helped me mind my 2 young daughters. The kids loved her and she was so kind and friendly towards them. She also is a good cook and made her homemade Italian lasagne, pesto, risotto and much more. We had a lot of fun while we were eating her delicious food.
I would highly recommend her. She fitted into our family home and lifestyle very quickly.
I wish her all the best with the rest of her travels and hope we will keep in touch.

Staying with Cynthia and all her beautiful family has been amazing!! I came to her place as a last minute workaway and I spend two weeks, and since the first moment that we met I felt the kindness and the peace of her and her family.

Also the work to do was fine, Chynthia was always taking you in count and introducing you in all her plans so you feel really good and integrated while you are working, and this is the best part, that you can feel like one more in her big family of the village, doing lots of funny plans and learning a lot about the lifestyle of this part of Germany.
I just can say thank you to Cynthia and all her family for making this experience so much beautiful and interesting for me, and to don't treat me like a worker, but like a friend.
