Description
Kia ora ra. I live in Rotorua having completed my home transformation. I have 1 dog, Te Uira a Labrador cross. I am with He Tuatoatanga, the Maori Spiritual Warrior School which is my past my present and my future.
Here, I am in the thick of my Maori community. These are my grandmother's people and mine. A very loving and caring community with hearts that are open to the world. As it should be.
All meals are provided as part of the reciprocity. So is a nice cosy bed. There's usually an abundance of fruit for you to help yourself to during the day and the lemon tree is always giving! There's plenty of good coffee.
As indicated we work 5 hours a day and for 5 days and then take 2 days off for you to go and explore or simply rest. It's a very relaxed pace. I can give you a list of tasks and then leave you to do it at your own pace. Sometimes we may all go off together to enjoy the local scenery, the hot water treasures or out to the coast. Fish and chips on the way.
Hopefully you can use your own initiative to help me out around my home, garden and backyard. If you like to cook, it would be a bonus for me to enjoy the experience! If you are artistic and have flare in the garden - then let's create. I can teach you a little about Papatuanuku (Mother Earth) and what she has to offer - in my backyard or on a forest walk. I have lots to share. Looking forward to meeting you.
Rotorua is all about thermal activity. There are hot steam baths everywhere. The other treasure here are the lakes. So there's the hot and there's cold. If you are a water baby, then you will be in your element. Maori culture abounds and it is rich in beauty. Just across the road from me is an amazing village - a great opportunity to explore.
My home is a calm and relaxed environment and you will be warmly welcomed.
Nga mihi!

This is the land of my people, Te Arawa. Whilst you are here, you will be embraced by my family who will also include you in many of our outings.

The current project is - touch up and repaint the caravan. Also it's help around the yard - the garden, trimming trees. Constructing new vege gardens. Inside the house help also would be appreciated. Indoors - there's alway cleaning. The garage is next.

TIME OFF? Work work work. Haha it's a joke! I have a mountain bike you can explore the area on. Take the dogs for walks in the Redwoods across the road. Swim in the lake. Bike to the hot pools. Explore and absorb The Nature. If you have a validated licence, then my vehicle can drive us to the beach and back!

We spent 1 week with Candice and had an incredible time, learning so many things with such an inspiring and resourceful host. :)
