Hannah was a joy to have stay and help us. Her wonderfully positive attitude got her through some boring jobs like painting s huge greenhouse and she approached every task we set her with enthusiasm. We would very happily recommend Hannah.

I stayed with Lydia & Rupert and their lovely family for three weeks and I absolutely loved it! They teached me how to do hedge cutting and I learned a lot about gardening, cooking and painting. The work was always fun and I had the best time painting the glasshouse & helping with various tasks. The village they live in is so cute and I swam in
… read more the ocean and took many sweet walks around exploring everything. I can highly recommend staying with Lydia & Rupert - both of them are so amazing and they inspire me so so much. You will have the best time at their place and make sure to do the Ballycotton cliff hike which has great views. Oh and they also have a lovely dog and the sweetest cats which love to cuddle. I am SO grateful for my experience there and will definitely come back for a visit! I haven't met a family that is more magical than them.
They are very joyful, full of energy, showing love and care to everyone. I was welcomed right away as if I was part of the family. Unfortunately my experience was a short one, however it was wonderful. There was no obligation to work, but every day I was learning new incredible things.

Lydia and Rupert were wonderful hosts to stay with and work for. They provided a nice little flat to stay in and Lydia cooked delicious food every evening.
The kids were really fun and had lots of energy. I instantly fell in love with the family's two ponies and got to take them out for trailrides with the family.

… read more out in the cookery school occasionally where I learned how to shape bread, I also got to help out in the pizzeria which was a great experience and a lot of fun.
Then when it came time for me to leave Lydia's dad referred me to a job in a nearby restaurant where I worked for a bit while still staying in contact wirh Lydia and her family.

Anna was a really great help to us. She got stuck in immediately with the horses and children. She had a great attitude to the changing work and was kind and helpful. We very much enjoyed having her stay.

Marie was so sweet and kind with our littlest Jago, and put up with hours of lego playing with him. She was good natured with any work we asked her to do and hard working. A lovely person to have stay with us.

We really loved having Alisa stay and help us. She had a great attitude and was flexible and cheerful. Alisa is independent and made friends quickly and enjoyed exploring the area. We would very happily recommend Alisa to anyone.

Benedetta and Antonio were a breath of fresh air. The family enjoyed their great sense of fun and enthusiasm for whatever was going on. They were helpful and showed a great work ethic. You,LL be lucky if these two gorgeous young breeze into your home.

I arrived in Lydia and Rupert' s house at half past nine in the evening and the situation was kind of being in a playground in the middle of the day: wild free and happy children playing all around the beautiful house running jumping and having fun in all possible ways. … read more meanwhile we were meet each other. I guess this picture can give the idea of what I lived for the two weeks I spent there.
The work was varying, mainly about gardening and stay with the children. The little one is just amazing, beautiful funny and full of energy little monkey, I miss him so much!
Lydia and Rupert were kind and willing all the time, very flexible about the work schedule, really friendly with us, always sweet and understanding with the children, truly parents model :)

Emily was a joy to have stay. She was best friends with all the kids within 10 minutes and threw herself into life with us. She was fantastic at the markets, cheerful at 6am and responsible. We miss her!

Staying with Lyd, Rup and their 4 beautiful little humans changed my world. I was and continue to be so inspired. … read more to work with and filled with knowledge on a ridiculous amount of things, Amelia, Jasper, Ottie and little Jago are beautiful geniuses and filled with so much life and love.
Ballymaloe area is a little slice of paradise - the food, the landscapes, walks, trees, skylines, sunrises and sunsets, the tomatoes (oh my goodness the tomatoes...) and the people are pure magic. Pretty goddamn magnificent! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
