  Description

  We are a couple in our beginning 50s. We have three boys (20,23,25) - two of them live independently, one is still at home. In 2024/25 we had the great opportunity of a sabbatical of 4 months - traveling to San Francisco and French Polynesia and spending three months in New Zealand, where we stayed at work away places, had great cultural exchanges and loved it a lot. That's why we decided to become host ourselves:-).
  We live in large house with garden and have got 11 chickens an 2 cats and love to welcome people from other countries

  Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre

  We are looking forward to a cultural exchange. We speak German, English and French. We lived in France for a year (long time ago), in the southern part of England as a family for 5 years.
  I (Doro) work as a primary teacher. Workawayers are welcome to visit our school if interested.
  Matthias is involved with forestry in his own woodland and likes to share his experiences here.

  Aide

  Depending on the season, your help may be different and may include
  - general cleaning in the house
  - gardening tasks like weeding, cutting bushes or trees
  - feeding chickens and cleaning chickens hut and outside area
  - general tasks at house and car port (if you like and this would be together with us)
  - When you are interested: looking after or fixing bikes
  - in June/July/August: harvesting red currents, cherries, peaches and making jam or other things
  Together we will find out the right tasks for you :-)

  Hébergement

  You will have your own room and bathroom (that other visitors might use occasionally).
  You will share with us our kitchen, living room and the big garden. There is also a nice room with two windows in the basement for some more privacy - if you want to use it.
  Usually we share a meal in the evening. We are very interested in cooking together or share the cooking. Since working our various, we are welcome to use what we have in the fridge or in the kitchen for breakfast and for lunch.

  We live a bit outside of Potsdam (15 min by bike or bus into the centre) with good public transport connections. We have got bikes that you can use when you want to.
