Description
Hello and welcome!
We’re a young married couple living in beautiful Gisborne on the east coast of New Zealand’s North Island. We have an English Springer Spaniel, Skye, and have recently added a 74-hectare farm to our lives.
Our home is in a peaceful spot beside the river, and our farm is only a short drive away. We’re gradually developing the farm and currently have Angus cattle and sheep, along with plenty of land, fencing, gardens and projects to keep us busy!
We’d love to welcome Workawayers who are happy to get involved with everyday life and lend a hand with a mixture of jobs. Depending on the time of year, this could include gardening and property maintenance, helping around the farm, weed control, fencing and general outdoor jobs, as well as looking after our dog and animals when needed. You definitely don’t need to be an experienced farmer — being practical, willing to learn and happy to get stuck in is much more important to us.
We both work during the week, so we particularly appreciate people who are comfortable working independently once they know what needs doing.
In return, you’ll get the chance to experience a little slice of rural New Zealand while still being close to Gisborne. Our region has beautiful beaches, rivers, walking tracks and some fantastic hunting and fishing, and there’s plenty to explore in your free time.
We enjoy the outdoors and are excited about turning our farm into something special over the coming years. We’d love to share our home, farm life and our part of New Zealand with friendly travellers who are keen to experience something a little different. -

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
We warmly welcome Workawayers into our home and treat them as part of our family. You’ll have the chance to fully immerse yourself in our culture, lifestyle, and daily routines, allowing you to gain a genuine understanding of our way of life. We love sharing our knowledge and skills, whether it’s learning about our composting operation business, cooking together, or simply exchanging stories and experiences.
As part of our team, you’ll learn valuable skills related to our work, and we’re always eager to teach and guide you along the way. In return, we hope to learn about your culture, language, and any unique skills you bring with you. We believe in creating a friendly, supportive environment where we can all learn from each other, and we’re excited to share this journey of growth and cultural exchange with you. -

Autres infos...
There’s plenty to enjoy in your free time! Gisborne is known for its beautiful beaches, great swimming and surfing, rivers, walking tracks, wineries and relaxed lifestyle. There are also lots of opportunities for fishing, hunting and exploring the wider East Coast.
Our home is right beside the river and only a short drive from town and the beach. Our farm is also a short drive away, so you’ll get to experience a mixture of everyday life in Gisborne and rural New Zealand farm life.
Having your own vehicle is definitely an advantage for exploring the area independently.
We have an English Springer Spaniel, Skye, as well as cattle and sheep on the farm, so being comfortable around animals is important.
