Description
We are located in the Andean mountains of the Sumapaz region in Cundinamarca (Colombia). We project a space for the conservation and scientific research of the biodiversity of the local forest, an environmental classroom where, in particular, native stingless bees are protected, managed and raised.
The project is in the bioconstruction phase of infrastructure, food production with a permacultural approach and we are conducting research around the diversity of native bees, lepidoptera (butterflies and moths), birds and plants present in the area through inventories.
The space seeks a respectful relationship with the environment, make efficient use of resources, close cycles and offer a space to learn from each other.
You will find a coffee environment in transition towards the recovery of the native forest, local and ancestral knowledge.

Nos encontramos en las montañas andinas de la región del Sumapaz en Cundinamarca (Colombia). Proyectamos un espacio para la conservación e investigación científica de la biodiversidad del bosque local, un aula ambiental donde en especial se protegen, manejan y crían abejas nativas sin aguijón.
El proyecto se encuentra en la fase de bioconstrucción de infraestructura, producción de alimentos con un enfoque permacultural y estamos realizando investigaciones alrededor de la diversidad de abejas nativas, lepidópteros (mariposas y polillas), aves y plantas presentes en la zona a través de inventarios.
El espacio busca una relación respetuosa con el entorno, hacer un uso eficiente de los recursos, cerrar ciclos y ofrecer un espacio para aprender mutuamente.
Encontraras un entorno cafetero en transición hacia la recuperación del bosque nativo, saberes locales y ancestrales.

You will find a space that will bring you closer to the coffee peasant life and culture of the region. Surrounded by a beautiful and peaceful natural environment in the mountains, from where you can see the entire Sumapaz region and three of the snow-capped peaks of the Colombian Andean mountain range. You will not only learn about the management of native bees. You can also have the experience of coffee work, bio-construction and regenerative agriculture, taking advantage of all local knowledge.

Encontrarás un espacio que te acercará a la vida y cultura campesina cafetera de la región. Rodeado de un entorno natural hermoso y apacible en la montaña, desde dónde podrás ver toda la región del Sumapaz y tres de los picos nevados de la cordillera andina colombiana.
No solo aprenderás sobre el manejo de las abejas nativas. También podrás tener la experiencia de trabajo cafetero, bioconstrucción y agricultura regenerativa, aprovechando todos los saberes locales.

I need your help to finish some constructions necessary for the project. All of them built with natural materials from the area. If you have knowledge or want to learn about bioconstruction, I would like your help! You can also support us in carrying out biodiversity inventories through sampling and registration.
The other tasks where you can collaborate have to do with the maintenance of the farm, agriculture, domestic tasks and related to the care, protection and reproduction of native stingless bees.

Necesito de tu ayuda para terminar algunas construcciones necesarias para el proyecto. Todas ellas construidas con materiales naturales de la zona. Si tienes conocimiento o quieres aprender sobre bioconstrucción me gustaría contar con tu ayuda!. También puedes apoyarnos en la realización de inventarios de biodiversidad a través de muestreos y registros.
Las demás labores donde puedes colaborar tienen que ver con el mantenimiento de la finca, agricultura, tareas domésticas y relacionadas al cuidado, protección y reproducción de abejas nativas sin aguijón.

For the moment you can stay in a tent protected with a mattress. We have water and electricity but no wi-fi connection. Phone signal and data are unstable at times due to location.

The project is developed in two neighboring municipalities in the region: Arbelaez and Fusagasugá, an intermediate city where you can find banks, shopping centers, bars, restaurants and many more services you may need. We are 1 hour and a half from Bogotá to Fusagasugá or two hours from Bogotá to Arbelaez. You can also visit the Honda waterfall very close to here or the lunar hill of Quininí, where you can find caves and pre-Columbian petroglyphs, also scattered in other parts of the municipality. San Rafael Park, a natural reserve in the region and El arbol de las Ventas among other hills, rivers, streams and moors that you can visit. And very close to here The natural bridge over the Sumapaz River canyon. Or the mummies of the neighboring municipality of San Bernardo.

El proyecto se desarrolla en dos municipios vecinos de la región: Arbelaez y Fusagasugá, una ciudad intermedia donde encuentras bancos, centros comerciales, bares, restaurantes y muchos más servicios que puedas necesitar.
Estamos a 1 hora y media desde Bogotá hasta Fusagasugá o dos horas desde Bogotá hasta Arbeláez.
También podrás visitar la cascada de la Honda muy cerca de acá o el cerro lunar de Quininí, dónde encuentras cuevas y petroglifos precolombinos, dispersos también en otros lugares del municipio. El parque San Rafael, una reserva natural de la región y El arbol de las ventanas entre otros cerros, ríos, quebradas y páramos que puedes visitar. Y muy cerca de acá El puente natural sobre el cañón del Río Sumapaz. O las momias del municipio vecino de San Bernardo.

Estuvimos 15 días con Yupanqui y fue muy tranquilo. A pesar de la lluvia pudimos ayudarlo con algunos de sus proyectos, como limpieza de guaduas para su futura casa, cosecha de café, hacer manualmente el nivel de algunos espacios y mejoramiento de una huerta.
