Description
My property is located in Mackay which is in Central Queensland Coast area. Mackay is a stunning area with beautiful beaches and very nice places for walking and swimming. Mackay is less well known to tourists/backpackers so you can fully enjoy all its beauty without the crowds. I provide bike(s) so you can enjoy exploring the area.
I provide:
Private studio accommodation. You will enjoy this entire place to yourself, there are no shared areas.
Happy and safe work environment
Connection with community events/arts scene
Bikes/helmets/access to extensive bike tracks
Excellent support to workawayers seeking to enrich their English speaking skills ie increase vocabulary and improving their pronunciation
Training for cooking skills in plant based foods if you are interested
Hiking opportunities
Body surfing: weather permitting
Access to free resort style pool nearby (10 minute bike ride)
Pick up/drop off from point of arrival and departure
You will be staying in a studio which is your private area: queen sized bed, couch and toilet. Bathroom facilities are nearby and are shared with me.
I am hugely safety conscious and for this reason you will not be exposed to any work outdoors in excessive heat conditions.
I truly try very hard to make every workaway stay a positive and memorable experience. Before considering my place there are a few things to know:
You will be asked to help with outdoor tasks therefore it is important you are comfortable with the presence of living creatures in my garden. If you have concerns about insects and/or other living creatures or don't enjoy the outdoors then my place isn't suited for you.
I have a small indoor dog: Coco Chanel. If you don't like dogs this may not be a suitable place for you to stay.
Mackay is a beautiful place to visit in terms of its natural beauty. We have many beautiful beaches, gardens and safe areas for swimming. The attraction is the slower pace and lack of crowds. Please consider if this type of experience will appeal to you.
If you are looking for a buzzing place which is full of backpackers then my place is not a good fit for you. Airlie Beach is a good alternative if you are seeking the company of other backpackers.
On a positive note...I do try to customise the work to preferences as much as I can. I also try to offer a mix of creative projects matched to your interests.
I welcome either 2 friends travelling together or couples.
Before committing to staying at my property I require that we have a detailed phone discussion to make sure we are a good fit.

I really love teaching others English and have a lot of experience in this.
Hébergement
You will be offered a very safe environment and your own accommodation. We live very close to the cbd so you can take a quick bike ride to the swimming lagoon. You may need to share other areas with me: bathroom, and laundry.
The bathroom is located in an area next to my bnb. You will not be required to share this space with my bnb guests.
