Hello, we are Andrea and Klaus from Germany. Andrea is a Geographer working for many years in different countries. Klaus is a technician, who is working since many years for a german enterprise, for them he traveled a lot around the world.
Now our children are adults and we have more time and decided to use this for longer stays in countries where we both haven't been before. We love to travel, a bit differently off of the tipical tourist roads. We want to live more daily life and get to know more of the culture and the people in the country where we are traveling. Additionally we would love to improve our skills. We are quick learners and open to attaining new skills or to share our knowledge.
So we are looking out for hosts where we can share experiences and working together. We both like working in nature, but would also enjoy working in a house, painting walls or furnitures, reparing many things inside and outside the house or taking care of animals and properties. Be aware that we may be are not the strongest, but may be the smartes guests you can find. :-) We both are positive people and very practical, so we like to think out of the box and find solutions.

We have always had a variety of pets (dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits, fish, etc) so we are used to live with animals. At the moment we have a cat, who unfortunately can't travel with us, but will stay with Andrea's son.
We have decided to rent a car and travel with this through New Zealand. Beside cycling, we also like to discover culture, arts and music, reading, cooking together and doing crafts, but most importantly, we love to interact with people and laugh together.

As student Andrea worked in a little hotel and hospitality is important for her. She did work five years on her own sheep farm and produced cheese . She loves cooking, but also painting rooms and furniture, working in the garden. Klaus is a good technican and is able to repair a lot of things, also he has worked longtime as painter. He loves to repair his van and has already assembled a lot of bycicles and also motorbikes. We both are used to work with computer, we love communication and organising things, planing projects and we are both good in finding solutions.
