Hi!
My name is Marek and I’m from Poland. At the moment I’m on a long journey around the world, discovering new places, people, and experiences :)

I’m a positive, open-minded, and easy-going person. I enjoy meeting people from different cultures, sharing stories, and learning new skills. I like to stay active and be useful wherever I go.

I have lived in several countries, including Denmark, England, and now the Azores in Portugal. Living in different places has helped me become adaptable, independent, and comfortable in new environments.

By education I am a neuropsychologist, but in practice I mostly work as an electrician. For the past 10 years I have worked at events and festivals as a lighting technician, setting up lighting systems, decorations, and stages. I enjoy technical work and creating things with my hands.

Recently, while living in the Azores, I have also gained experience in construction work — working with wood, basic building projects, and electrical installations. I’m always happy to learn new practical skills.

I have volunteered many times before and I truly enjoy helping people and being part of a team. I can work both independently and together with others, and I always try to bring positive energy to the place where I stay.

My motivation for Workaway is to travel in a meaningful way, meet inspiring people, share experiences, and learn new things while helping hosts with their projects.

I’m happy to help with many different tasks and I’m always open to learning something new

I am a practical and reliable person with a wide range of hands-on skills. I have experience in electrical work, including basic installations and repairs. I enjoy working with wood and have done various carpentry tasks such as building, fixing, and creating simple wooden structures.

I also have experience in decoration and setting up spaces, helping to improve the appearance and functionality of interiors and outdoor areas. I am good at organizing and preparing spaces for different uses.

Additionally, I can handle general maintenance tasks, including repairs, upkeep, and problem-solving around the house or property. I am adaptable and always willing to learn new skills when needed.

I also have basic computer skills, which allow me to assist with simple technical tasks, online work, or digital organization.

I am hardworking, responsible, and motivated to help wherever I am needed.
