  We are a small, cozy language institute in Yopal. Our atmosphere is quiet, family-oriented, and simple; here, everyone knows each other, and we all lend a hand. We work with children and teenagers, who are eager to practice English with people from around the world.
  
  We aren't looking for "perfect" professors—we are looking for big hearts. You don’t need to be a professional teacher, but you do need patience, a positive attitude, and a love for conversation.
  • Morning School Support: While our institute is closed in the mornings, we collaborate closely with a local private school. During this time, you will join us to support English classes, helping students with their pronunciation and basic skills in a traditional school setting.
  • Afternoon/Evening at Smart: In the late afternoon, you'll be at our institute supporting our students. We prepare the curriculum and guide you through every step, so you won’t have to plan complicated lessons.
  • The Task: Support basic activities and, once a week, lead a short, fun activity for our conversation club.

  A True Cultural & Language Exchange We love hosting volunteers who are eager to improve their Spanish while helping our students master English. Here, the exchange happens naturally—there is always someone ready for a friendly conversation! • Improve your Spanish: Beyond daily practice, we offer structured Spanish lessons with local teachers. • Social Impact: We provide these classes at a very low cost, and 100% of those funds are reinvested into our community educational projects and activities. • The Experience: This is a real exchange. You share your English and culture, and in return, you gain Spanish skills and a deep, authentic understanding of daily life in Colombia.

  Alojamiento

  We want you to feel comfortable and safe during your stay. Depending on availability, your accommodation will be in one of two welcoming settings:
  • At the Institute (Smart Language): You may stay in a private room on the second floor of our language center, located right in the heart of Yopal. You will have a private bedroom and private bathroom, with access to a shared kitchen with the host.
  • With a Local Family: Alternatively, you might stay in a homestay with a local family. This is a fantastic way to immerse yourself even deeper into Colombian culture and practice your Spanish daily in a warm, domestic environment.
  Location & Safety:
  Both options are located in safe and convenient areas, close to local shops, cozy cafés, and public transport. Whether you are at the institute or with a family, you will always be in a central spot where everything you need is within reach.

  • The "Llanero" Safari: This is a world-class experience! Explore vast nature reserves where you can see hundreds of capybaras (chigüiros), deer, caimans, monkeys, and even the majestic anaconda or the elusive jaguar in their natural habitat. It’s like being in Africa, but with a Colombian soul.
  • Chasing Waterfalls & Rivers: Cool off in the crystal-clear waters of local spots like La Aguatoca or enjoy the natural pools and waterfalls hidden in the nearby mountains.
