Hello! I'm Kelly, and I'm a photographer from Phoenix, Arizona in the United States. That said, I've worn a lot of hats in my time! I've toured with bands as a tour manager, done hard labor in my parents' machine shop, scooped ice cream, auctioned antiques, sold agriculture products, and more. I love a bit of variety, which has led to quite a bit of traveling abroad. I love animals, music, art of all kinds, hiking, writing, reading, and cooking.
My partner Spencer is also traveling with me, and while he works remotely, he's more than happy to pitch in and works just as hard as I do. This also means we're okay with helping out with groceries or supplies in the home.
While this is our first time on Workaway specifically, we travel for a living and regularly stay with strangers who are generous enough to open their homes. We fully appreciate the sacrifice hosts make and know how to be excellent guests.
We enjoy an occasional glass of wine, but are non smokers

Que habilidades tienes?

Kelly is a photographer and artist, specializing in portraits and events but open to photographing anything! She has experience with marketing, social media management, and web design. She loves animals and getting her hands dirty. She has experience with painting, gardening, house maintenance, cleaning, yard work, and light construction. While she didn't grow up on a farm specifically, she was raised in rural Indiana and spent her childhood on neighboring farms and working outside. She spent most of the last 6 months doing manual labor at her parents' newly constructed pole barns and working at their machine shop.

Kelly will be performing most of the work on our stay, as Spencer works remotely. Both of us regularly travel and stay as guests in the homes of friends, acquaintances and strangers, so we understand how important it is to treat your home with respect and care.

While Spencer will be working remotely during our stay, he will still be able to assist with the work around the house. He has experience in house maintenance, cleaning, and yard work. We're happy to provide our own groceries and both of us love to cook. As long as we're with you, you'll have two private chefs!

Spencer is a musician and I'm a visual artist, so we love discussing all things art! We're rather laid back and enjoy movies, cooking (and eating!), exploring, swimming, hiking, and more.

Spencer likes the Dune book series, video games, film, trying new recipes, hiking and animals.

Kelly likes reading, drawing, puzzles, card games, writing, and animals.

We LOVE meeting new people and making new friends, especially abroad. We both travel for a living and actually met while Kelly was on tour with Spencer's band. We both come from very hardworking families and never shy away from a chance to help out.

We're currently in Melbourne but our housing for the next two months fell through. We're open to relocating within AUS, but we'd like to do a longer stay if that's the case. We also plan to visit New Zealand in January, but we're considering heading down there early if the right workaway situation pops up. We currently have accommodations booked through Nov 19, but they are refundable if you need us sooner (we'd like to give the host a few days notice as a courtesy) and will be in AUS until January 9.
