Update 2024 - Our projects have really gone from strength to strength in 2024. We have had 11 international volunteers visit from Spain, Germany, France, UK, US and many more countries. All have had a fantastic experience, contributing in various ways and making friends for life.
We have opened a second girls club - being run by madam Mary and have continued to support multiple students in their education as well post education/ trying to build employment skills and start businesses. Please visit for additional details.
Our history - The projects have been running for 20 years, hosting international volunteers since 2004. We are several Ghanaian directors Christian, Eric, Irene running the projects on the ground and a team of international directors (Greg, Rory, Jess, Harry) responsible for fundraising and broader strategy.
We have supported hundreds of children through their schooling and life skills over the years and helped set them on the road to adulthood through trainee schemes and university. We have multiple projects running across several villages in area and volunteers are free to support across all of these:
1. Support in local schools through teaching, tutoring and general classroom support
2. Coaching in our football academy can include other sport and fitness classes
3. Running classes in our cultural centre - in drumming, dancing and other arts
4. Supporting our projects for girls and young women in education and life skills and empowerment
5. For those commenting to stay longer then also options in broader management and admin support on the ground as we seek long term sustainability for the projects
We are committed to inform and prepare volunteers as well as possible before the trip. We ask in return for volunteers to stay in touch with the project long term and are open and to support volunteers that are then looking for a career in the social / charity / NGO sectors.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

Living and working in Ghana can be an incredible experience with a very friendly and vibrant population. Our project is very grassroots and provides opportunity to experience real life and make a very meaningful contribution.
Volunteers will gain as much as they put into the project and they can gain great skills in teaching, working with young people and seeing how small NGOs function. Our directors (both international and Ghanaian) and very open to new ideas and initiatives from willing volunteers.
Please also be aware there are also many challenges of volunteering and living in small town Ghana. From cultural differences, climate, illness and other. All volunteers will have verbal discussions with international coordinators and Ghanaian directors to introduce ourselves and support with preparation.Ayuda
We are looking for volunteers to help with our NGO in Ghana that is very grassroots but also highly impactful and fun. We have a number of programmes running that volunteers can participate in:
1. Teaching and after school tutoring - STEM subjects, computer skills, and English are in high demand. We place you in local government schools and support you to find the right age groups and levels to support.
2. Coaching in our football (soccer) academy or general fitness training. Football is a huge passion in Ghana and we use this to support disadvantaged children. Most likely you would start with the younger age groups and move up within some weeks.
3. Participating in our cultural centre - dance, drumming, arts. You can lead in running sessions here in any of these areas.
4. We have two after school clubs for girls and young women empowering education and life skills.
5. We are open to any other general support and coordination for the organisation and for other ideas that could benefit the broader communities around our project sites.
The project has been running for 20 years but only just recruiting again for volunteers since Covid-19. Project is financially secure but we are looking for fresh energy and ideas!
Volunteers can use any skills they have to contribute to the areas above. Experience working with young people is obviously a huge bonus but it is more about having a positive attitude and ability to work and appreciate other cultures. There will be challenges and stress at different moments so we seek volunteers that are calm and confident and have a positive and flexible attitude.Idiomas hablados

We are situated in the Eastern region, approximately 3 hours north of Accra. There are some fantastic local towns, lots of interesting hikes and lake Volta very close. Beach is approximately 3 hours so is possible to visit on a long weekend.
We can support volunteers to plan some touristic/ cultural activities during their stay.Un poco más de información
