Hello, I'm Julia. I'm a friendly, considerate and easy going person - curious about others - and I've lived at a few different communities enough to know it's the kind of living that suits me best, so am keen to visit some more.

I love seeing live music, adding new music to my radar, dancing, walking, listening to other people's stories and then really really wanting to get some of my own.
Recently my life has involved getting to know the circles of the poetry scene in Brighton, where I currently live in the UK as a student, and meeting the number of amazing, hardworking and experimental artists, academics and poets there.

I have experience with planting trees, gardening, painting and decorating, cooking, helping with paperwork and can learn new skills pretty quickly with a bit of guidance.

I've worked on a restoration project of a Grade 2 listed manor house, and seen the progress that's been made there over the past years by crafty and skilled DIY workers, and also witnessed the end of a recording studio being built, and I know that projects like these that transform space into something that meets communal and especially creative needs are what I really want to be involved in in the future.

Basically, my goals for my following trips are to meet people I otherwise wouldn't have come across, see how they do things, hitchhike a bit, develop my writing practice, learn how people build projects from scratch and learn some new songs on guitar.

In terms of specific skills, its a big regret that I grew up not really learning any DIY skills, and I am super keen to get as many under my belt - especially as I'd love to be able to renovate buildings in the future cheaply and collectively. However, I have experience with cooking for lots of people, gardening, painting and decorating (I've painted many walls), some woodwork and general organising and tidying. I love spending time with kids, and in general, am a dedicated and thorough learner, so could pick up new skills if I were taught the basics.

would need access to a tiny bit of space in a fridge, as very frustratingly I have to carry some medicine around that needs refrigerating.
