Hi!
I’m Jake — originally from Chicago and currently living in Minneapolis, MN. I’m passionate about travel, cultural exchange, and all things food and cooking.

My friends would describe me as sunny, easy-going, kind, witty, and curious. I’m a people person at heart - I love connecting with others and learning their stories. Some of my favorite ways to spend time are getting lost in hands-on work: cooking for friends, throwing pottery, gardening, fly fishing, playing cello, or dancing.

Professionally, I work in healthcare, where I’m motivated by projects that make a real difference in people’s lives. Personally, I’m Sicilian-American and have long dreamed of one day having a small farm with olive trees, figs, and grapevines.

Through Workaway, I’m hoping to gain experience in farming, cooking, and local food traditions — and to build genuine connections by helping families care for their land and daily life. I’m excited to learn, lend a hand, and be part of something meaningful. Looking forward to connecting!
