I am a college student studying history, psychology, and public health in New York City. My professional goals (and past experiences) are loosely related to special education and healthcare for people with cognitive disabilities. I am also a painter. I would love to improve my Spanish language skills while learning more about hospitality, as well as farming/food sovereignty. I am looking for a stay that will allow me to be part of a respectful, vibrant community during my time there. Thank you :)

Que habilidades tienes?

I am experienced working with and teaching kids, particularly those with cognitive disabilities; I have worked at a program for children with behavioral problems due to disability and/or trauma histories since 2017. I am a Sensei in Kenpo Karate and have experience teaching martial arts to children, too. I am passionate about art, particularly painting, and am good at building things with my hands.

I am flexible, compassionate, and productive in high-stressed situations. Physically, I am strong and able.

I need to gain confidence speaking Spanish, though my comprehension is in a solid place. I have studied the language in school for about 6 years and am excited to have a genuine immersion experience.
