Hello, community! My name is Marcelo, and I come from Brazil. I am an experienced traveller (having been to more than 30 countries) and have volunteered a couple of times before. I have an architecture degree but am currently working remotely with graphic design.

Last year I spent the summer and autumn couchsurfing and volunteering in Europe and I am doing this again this year (2024). I love animals and could have a great time with all of them, but I plan to specialise myself in caring for goats and sheep. Cheesemaking, fermenting and gardening are also activities that bring me a lot of satisfaction, and due to my degree and past experiences, I can help with construction work.

Current physical status: I cycle about 3-4 times a week for 25km~ish and run for 5kms. I am 1,7m tall and can lift weights with no issues. I only demand a stable chair and table so I can use them for my part-time job for 5 hours a day. This job is very flexible and I choose my schedule. I can also work in the weekends if any workload was left behind.

I am a calm and patient person, but I can also be very fun and energetic. I believe that the biggest driving force in my life is curiosity and eagerness to connect with other people and living beings.

I wish I could be useful to someone and help them fulfil their dreams by lending a hand on projects and, meanwhile, learning a bit to get closer to mine. I guess this is all about giving and receiving, which makes us humans after all.

Poetry, philosophy, cinema, and music are also things I am tied to and love so much.

It is a little bit hard to list my skills as I am kind of an all-arounder and can fit in different activities, but I will try. :)

I have an architecture degree so I am familiar to building things and planning, so I can be useful whenever there is need some kind of help in this way. Once I volunteered in the Brazilian tropics for 2 months building earthen houses and huts. I also built a bamboo furniture once so I can use some machinery and tools.

I am quite familiar to planting, agroforestry and composting. I always worked with small and controlled spaces and most of it learning by trial and error by myself when planting.

Preparing food and cooking is very fun and prolific when done collectively, and this is something I can help too.

Digitally speaking, I also really like to make videos or to take pictures, specially from places, buildings, landscapes, plants, animals and little things (macro!). I have to admit I am not the best portrait photographer hehe. Can also help producing some images as I am familiar to graphic design and already worked in a publicity agency.

At this moment I am really into biking and hiking. I wish I can make a 10-day trip on the bike soon! :)
