My name is Wilmien. I am a digital nomad.
I have my own engineering business and therefore a flexible schedule. I work online most of the time and sometimes I travel to sites for work. I started my WorkAway journey in 2020, doing it full-on for 3 months. I absolutely loved it! When Covid hit, I had to go home (South Africa) where I started an office-bound job as an automation engineer. In March 2024 I quit my job and started my own thing. I really enjoy the flexibility thereof. I have a passion for travelling and meeting people from all over the world and exploring new places.

I am a hard-working, active, motivated person. I really enjoy the outdoors, trail running, hiking, cycling, playing golf or tennis (all kinds of sports actually) and I also love children! I am the eldest of 7 children. My youngest sibling is 6 years old. I have loads of experience with child care and house chores. I also enjoy cooking and helping my father on the farm or in the nursery when I am at home.

Que habilidades tienes?

I have a passion for sports and children! I've played individual and team sports practically my whole life and some even on regional and provincial level. I have younger siblings, as mentioned in my 'Profile Description', so I love playing with kids and doing active and fun things with them. I have a lot of patience and I believe that I have inherited a great teaching ability from my mom (who is a primary school teacher).

I grew up on a farm. My dad is always busy with some kind of DIY style eco- or organic project. I enjoy helping him with that and being outdoors.

When I am not busy studying, jogging, cycling, hiking in the beautiful mountains of Stellenbosch or on the golf course, I enjoy playing guitar or cooking for/with my flatmates. I also have a few bonsai trees that I am nursing. I'd like to believe that am quite adventurous, enjoy trying new things and learning as much as possible. I love exploring new places, planning trips to some mountain hut or beach spot with friends. My close-to-heart quite is "Carpe Diem" so I try to make the most of every day.

I had a great time at Bruno and Christelle's place. I only stayed for one week. I wish I could stay longer but I had to leave for my next visit in Germany.
