Hey there! I’m Sophie, 31, a hardworking, friendly individual looking for work and volunteering across the globe. I originally hail from Manchester in England and have great references and a wealth of experience I can bring to the table.

I have mostly worked in hospitality but also have farm and au-pair experience, and was a Digital Marketing Exec for over four years.I have recently completed my TEFL qualification and would be looking for purpose-driven volunteering opportunities working with children and / or adults. I have been a pianist for around 17 years and have a Grade 7 practical and Grade 5 Theory of Music awarded from the Royal School of Music which I would be interested in sharing my knowledge of with keen learners.

I'm a very positive and energetic person who loves to learn new skills. I have travelled to many remote destinations across the world and would love to experience all life as a local and immerse myself in the regional culture. I hope to hear from you soon!

Que habilidades tienes?

My skills are quite a mixed bag!

- Digital marketing - I worked as a Digital Marketing Exec for around 4 years at Anthesis Group, a sustainability consultancy. I pick up freelance work from time to time as well, including at a Microbrewery and for a waste management company. My main skills include website administration and maintenance (particularly wordpress and hubspot hosted), social media management and graphic design (leafleting, brochures and infographics using adobe tools). I’ve also done email campaigns, events and am a whizz at excel.

- Hotels and Tourism - I've worked in various accommodation / hostel properties for the past few years in a range of locations. Some have been 5 star resorts while others have been more community based living spaces.

- Music - I’ve played piano for 17 years, with a Grade 7 practical (Grade 8 being the top level) and Grade 5 Theory awarded by the Associated Board's Royal School of Music. I could easily teach someone the basics and love to play in my spare time.

- Previous childcare experience - I have been staying with my brother helping to care for his three children under 5 for six months. I have also lived on a farm for three months and would often take responsibility for two girls aged 6 and 8.

- Teaching skills - I have recently completed my TEFL course and am keen to put it to use!

- Cleaning - I've been responsible for nighttime closedown of both retail, accommodation and restaurant spaces, so know how to tidy a room ready for the next morning. I have even cleaned for Bill Gates!

- Barista, barwork and waitressing - I have help several front of house positions from fine dining establishments to hostels, and can make a range of basic cocktails off the cuff. Hospitality has been my main wheelhouse for around six years.

- Caring for pets - I grew up with 7 different animal species and have previously taken care of pets at other work for stay opportunities.

- Gardening - I volunteer some of my time to local gardening projects annually, and helped with weeding, harvesting and building flower beds for farms on Vancouver Island and Lillooet.

- DIY - I can paint walls and am very interested in learning carpentry as a skill too. Whatever you can teach me I would be grateful.
