Descripción
Hi! My name is Monserrat, I’m 42 years old and I’m from Mexico.
I’m currently taking a sabbatical year after many years of working in the commercial side of the chemical industry. I decided to take this time to step out of my comfort zone, experience different cultures, meet new people, and learn as much as I can.
One of my main goals is to improve my English while living authentic cultural experiences in North America and Europe. I believe the best way to learn a language is by sharing everyday life with local people.
I consider myself a responsible, respectful, friendly, and open-minded person. I enjoy helping others, adapting to new environments, and working as part of a team. I’m always willing to learn new skills and I’m not afraid of trying something I’ve never done before. For me, every new experience is an opportunity to grow.
I enjoy spending time with children and helping take care of them. I also love animals, especially dogs and cats, and I enjoy gardening and being outdoors. I’m happy to help with daily household tasks, pet care, gardening, childcare, or any other responsibilities where I can be useful.
Although my professional background is in sales and the chemical industry, I believe my greatest strengths are my commitment, reliability, positive attitude, and willingness to learn. I’m a curious person who enjoys discovering new ways of doing things and contributing wherever I can.
I’m looking for more than just a place to stay—I’m looking for meaningful cultural exchange, genuine connections, and the opportunity to make a positive contribution while learning from my hosts.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I’m looking forward to meeting you, sharing experiences, learning new things together, and creating wonderful memories.
Hola!

Que habilidades tienes?
I am a responsible, reliable, and positive person who enjoys helping others and learning new things. Throughout my professional career, I have developed strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, and I adapt easily to new environments and challenges.
I enjoy cooking, especially homemade Mexican food, and I am always happy to prepare meals and learn new recipes from different cultures. I also have a valid driver's license and feel comfortable driving when needed.
I like gardening and spending time outdoors, and I can help with planting, watering, weeding, and general outdoor maintenance. I also enjoy painting and have experience using basic hand tools for simple maintenance and DIY projects.
I love animals, especially dogs and cats, and I am happy to help with feeding, walking, playing, and taking care of them. I also enjoy spending time with children and supporting them through games, creative activities, and daily routines.
I am happy to help with cleaning, organizing, and keeping shared spaces tidy. I take pride in being dependable, respectful, and committed to doing every task to the best of my ability.
One of my biggest motivations for joining Workaway is to improve my English. Although my English is still at a basic level, I am eager to practice every day, learn from my hosts, and become more confident through real-life conversations. I believe that every experience is an opportunity to grow, and I am excited to learn new skills while contributing to your home or project. -
