Hello Dear Hosts,
My name is Janos, but please call me Jason. I grew up in Hungary, and over the years I have studied, lived, and worked in several countries including Italy, the United Kingdom, China, Germany, and Vietnam. Living in different cultures has shaped me into an open-minded and adaptable person.

ABOUT ME
I consider myself a calm, patient and reliable person. I like clear communication and well-organized environments. I adjust easily to new situations and enjoy becoming part of everyday life rather than just passing through as a visitor.
I am not a party-focused traveler. I prefer meaningful conversations, structured days, and contributing in practical ways that make things easier for the people around me.

MY VOLUNTEERING EXPERIENCE
During different breaks in my professional career, I chose volunteering as a way to travel with purpose and connect more deeply with local communities.
I have volunteered:
– In Croatia (salt pool mining)
– In Thailand and Israel (reception, basic maintenance and cleaning)
– In Vietnam and China (teaching English)
– In Malta (home tutoring)
– In Malaysia (chili farming)
Each experience helped me grow, adapt, and understand different ways of living and working.

WHY I VOLUNTEER
When I take a break from a full-time work it’s such a pleasure to travel but I enjoy if I can do something even more meaningful meanwhile. I don’t just want to visit places as a tourist. I truly enjoy connecting with local people, learning about different cultures, gaining new experiences, and contributing something useful while I travel for a longer period.

WHAT I CAN OFFER
I hope that I can help you with any of my skills in the following fields:

RECEPTION & CLEANING
I worked as a hostel receptionist during my university years and later volunteered in similar roles. I enjoy welcoming guests, helping them with information, creating a friendly atmosphere, cleaning and preparing breakfast.

TEACHING & CHILDCARE
I have more than six years of English teaching experience in China and Vietnam. I enjoy working with children and helping students gain confidence in speaking. I can also support adults who would like to improve their English.

HOUSEHOLD & COOKING
I am happy to help with daily tasks such as cleaning, organizing, shopping, and cooking. I enjoy preparing Hungarian, Italian, and Asian dishes, and I am always open to learning new recipes.

GARDENING & ANIMAL CARE
I grew up in the countryside, so I feel comfortable with outdoor work. I can help with gardening tasks like mowing, planting, pruning, watering, and basic animal care.

FURNITURE & RENOVATION
I worked for several years in the wood industry and was involved in different stages of furniture production and installation. I can assist with practical tasks, repairs, or renovation projects around the house.

ART & DIGITAL SKILLS
I studied art and graphic design and have experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and basic website design (HTML/CSS). I can help with simple design projects or online materials if needed.

LANGUAGES
My native language is Hungarian. I speak English fluently and Italian at a conversational level. I enjoy learning languages in my free time and am always happy to practice or learn something new.

I look forward to joining a project where we can support each other and create a positive experience together.

Let’s see, I enlisted some of my skills and thing I like doing and I may help you with. :)

I worked as a RECEPTIONIST in a hostel previously. I like dealing with people, greeting them, helping them. I loved that period of my life and I'm happy when I can do it again.

I can help you with HOUSEKEEPING AND COOKING, your everyday things in your house such as cleaning, washing, ironing. I can do the shopping and cook meals for you. I love cooking, usually I prepare Hungarian, Italian and Asian meals. In case you’re not satisfied with my repertoire you can give me the recipe of your favourite meals and on that basis I can prepare them for you. I’m always open to learn new things.

CHILDCARE
I love dealing with children too. I like taking care of them and playing with them. I have some experience regarding education as I volunteered in Vietnam for one month then I worked in China for 2,5 years where I taught English to kids.

As I come from the countryside I like the big cities and places as they are so different from the environment where I grew up. But for the same reason the nature stands close to me and like working around the house including GARDENING (lawn mowing, planting, pruning, pruning, watering etc.) or ANIMAL CARE (taking care of them, feeding, cleaning etc.).

FURNITURE & CONSTRUCTION WORKS
I worked some years in the wood industry, first of all dealing with preparing the materials for wood finishing but I was involved in other steps of the furniture production from the beginning of manufacture till the installation. I can help you with the work around your house or renovations.

I studied ART and some GRAPHIC DESIGN too. I use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign. So if you need some help relative to these skills I may give you a hand.

LANGUAGE PRACTICE
However I’m not a native speaker but I can help you practice English and Italian (or of course even if you are interested in my mother tongue, Hungarian).
