Hi there, my name is Melisa! I was born and raised in the Pacific North West with a heavy cultural influence from my families native land of Bosnia. I have a strong passion for traveling, meeting new people and discovering new cultures!

I believe that individuals grow the most outside of their comfort zone and I'm ready to continue exploring, learning new things, and the opportunity to contribute to a household or workplace.

I am beyond excited for this new journey and I can't wait to see what the next opportunity holds!

- I graduated with a degree in Personnel Psychology and Human Resources with a Business Minor.

- I have built my career in the hospitality industry holding various management positions. In the last couple of years I have transformed my passion for travel into hospitality which has allowed me to meet and manage a diverse group of people, write and operate within budgets, and use my creativity to streamline procedures and processes. Hospitality will forever hold a special place in my heart and I absolutely love it!

- Through my volunteering experiences in Guatemala, Colombia and Ecuador, I found a great love for teaching English. In Oct. 2021, I began teaching English online to student all over the world, in addition to my volunteer work.

- Lastly, I have additional experience in social media marketing and blog writing, childcare, gardening and general maintenance.

I enjoy the outdoors - hiking, going on walks, snowboarding ( I must admit I'm still learning! ), paddleboarding, kayaking, and I love to try new things!

Staying healthy is extremely important to me both inside and out! I fuel my body with nutritious foods and I enjoy working out regularly.

I am hoping to stay in one location for more than a couple of weeks, potentially a couple of months! I think this is the best way to fully immerse myself into the culture.

Lastly, one of my favorite parts of my day is waking up and drinking my coffee. I'm the type of gal that wakes up early to make sure I have enough time to enjoy my morning cup of joe! There's just something so special about a cool morning, hot cup of coffee, being alone in your thoughts and planning for your day!

For this reason, I consider the people who can host and share time with Melisa lucky, do not miss out on this great opportunity.
As an English language teacher, Meli is exemplary. She is very responsible, creative and professional. She has a lot of experience teaching, which allowed the students to learn in many different ways. This includes games which the students enjoyed very much and had a lot of fun with. I am convinced that the children of my little canton, between the ages of 5 and 15, were fortunate to have our beloved Melisa as their teacher. Your students will surely miss you very much, thank you for giving them hope and a quality education.
Inside our house, where we shared many pleasant moments, Meli was a very orderly and collaborative person. Thank you for that smile that allowed us to start the day in a happy mood. Thank you for the affection shown to Melcocha (our little dog). Thank you for being part of our family and for supporting us at all times. Thank you for the motivation to run, walk, and exercise every morning, don't change those healthy habits that you also instilled in us. Thank you so much. You will always be welcome in our home. We love you very much Meli and we will miss you very much.

Nos sentimos tan bendecidos, por haber tenido la oportunidad de hospedar a una mujer hermosa, cuya vocación de servicio a los demás se ve reflejada en tu personalidad.
Fueron casi dos meses el tiempo que compartimos contigo. Dos meses qué pasó muy rápido, este tipo de experiencias nos obliga a valorar el tiempo y a vivirlo más intensamente, porque después nos quedan únicamente recuerdos. Por esta razón, considero afortunado a las personas que puedan hospedar y compartir tiempo con Melisa, no desaprovechen esta gran oportunidad.
Como docente en la enseñanza del idioma inglés, Meli es ejemplar. Es muy responsable, creativa y profesional. Tiene mucha experiencia enseñando, lo que permite a los estudiantes aprender de una manera divertida a través de juegos. Estoy convencido que los niños de mi pequeño cantón, de la edad de 5 a 15 años, tuvieron la suerte de tener como maestra a nuestra apreciada Melisa. De seguro que te van a extrañar mucho tus estudiantes, gracias por darles esperanza y una educación de calidad.
Dentro de nuestra casa, en donde compartimos muchos gratos momentos, Meli fue una persona muy ordenada y colaboradora. Gracias por esa sonrisa que nos permitía empezar el día de una forma alegre, gracias por el cariño demostrado a Melcocha (nuestro perrito), gracias por haber formado parte de nuestra familia y por apoyarnos en cada momento.
