Hello universe!

This is Jesse, a 27yo free spirited Finn, currently doing a workaway in Ireland.

Ever since I quit my job in a hectic and tiring fast food restaurant in 2024 I've been travelling around Europe doing voluntary work here and there for over a year now. I've taken care of horses, chickens and a small garden in Germany, I've hand fed pigs in an animal rescue farm in Ireland, worked with inspiring teenagers in a boarding school in northern Denmark and I've supported migrants during their first steps towards their new lives in Portugal. The first time I heard about Workaway was in this viennese pub from a friend and ever since that I have been heading towards that direction where I vision myself helping, connecting and contributing to the globe. I'm both nervous and excited but hey I guess these feelings are something we all share when building a change in life.

So doing some summing up, 3 things that have formed my Workaway adventures so far would be:

#1. Finding a community🤝
#2. Lending a hand to this planet and it's inhabitants one way or another🌍
#3. Learning more about myself and others. Way too much hate and way too little empathy in this world so I wanna do my part to little by little turn the tides towards the latter.

As a person I'm very calm and a thinker with a big "T". The people that know me say that I sooth them down and spread my calming energy to others as well. I love reading stuff as well as writing my notebook and poems whenever I get a chance and some inspiration. On the contrary I also really enjoy sticking both of my hands to the mud so to speak. Seeing the actual difference that I'm making and doing some physical stuff. So I have those both two sides in me. The one handy fact is also that I happen to be 1,93 m tall so if there's something high on the shelves etc. I might be able to help with that haha:)

I'm a nonsmoker and rarely drink alcohol either. I prefer vegan/vegetarian food. Doing sports and exercising is a lifestyle for me, staying active wherever I am on the planet. One of the best feelings in the world is the energy you feel in your body and mind after gym practice or running in the woods.

And now my friend, if a life would be a train I would invite you to the restaurant car to watch the views and to hear your side of the story. Where are you coming from, where are you heading or are you perhaps still figuring it out? Oh dont you worry, so am I. How about we make it a mutual adventure shall we?

I have a diverse mix of things I consider myself good at. Here's some of them:)...

1#I really enjoy talking and discussing with people, to show empathy and try to figure out things together. Many people have said to me that I bring with soothing and grounding energy wherever I go.

2#Cleaning up and setting things in order is fluent for me. I like keeping things tidy in my surroundings. I think it's part of that side in me that enjoys seeing the actual difference happening as I'm progressing with my work...

3#I like cooking in general, especially baking. Even better when doing cooking/baking food together. I think preparing food can be a great way to connect people from different backgrounds!

4#I´m pretty good with animals. In my childhood home we used to have a cat, some dogs and also chickens. I've also had a couple guinea pigs and due to our neighbors spent time around horses, sheep, cows and rabbits too. I love caring for animals and seeing how wonderful beings and individuals they are sharing the passion to live on this earth...

5#I enjoy working with words. So writing things down counts as one of my strengths as well. I'm into communication and journalism so all that relates to communicating with people interests me...

6#Topics related to sustainability and equality, human and animal rights endlessly interest me. Ready to work towards these themes anytime anywhere...

7#I have a passion towards sports and an active lifestyle. So up to physical work that practices strength and muscles. I solemnly believe that staying in good shape helps the mind and thoughts flow more passionately too...

8#As a person I'm calm, stable and reliable. I always want to do the work I attend to as well as I possibly can. Working towards some greater goal is inspiring and motivating for me.
