Hello there!

My name is Lucie and I am grateful to be a part of this lovely community. After spending more than 2 years on Cyprus (while volunteering and living off-grid for more than 1 year as well as working and trying to be a part of the local community) I recently closed one huge chapter in my life (filled with lessons around self-worth, sense of security, identity, authority, belonging, values and trust). Right now, I am still spending a precious time in Czechia, my home country, reconnecting and nurturing the bond with my family and the loved ones. Anyway, my soul is ready for new adventures and growth period.

In the beginning of September I will be heading to Greece - I chose this mesmerizing country as a starting point for my next chapter. I am primarily looking for conscious communities living in harmonic connection with Mother Nature, where connection, authenticity, holding space, healthy balance between unique self-expression of each individual and belonging/being a part of something far greater than ourselves, and spiritual (embodiment) practices are part of a daily life.

I can offer my presence, open mindedness, endless curiosity, willingness to show up and take initiative wherever it feels right. I am especially interested in diving deep into healthy nutrition and healing arts (especially all kinds of somatic/energy practice, Qi Gong, meditation and the role of sound in the healing) and merging the ancient wisdom with the modern science (and its integration into a daily life) in general. Also, as a passionate breathwork practitioner, previous Reiki (level 1) practitioner, current avid student of astrology (especially its evolutionary branch), Gene Keys transmission and positive psychology I am more than open to exchange knowledge, insights and just practising/having deep conversation with whoever these topics resonate with. :)

In volunteering I see a meaningful way to share a bit of my skills and give back to the world some of what I've learned in a cheerful way.

From a more practical viewpoint, below you can find the list some of the areas I've had the privilege to gain precious experience from and,thus, I can eventually help with:

- coordination of volunteers, educational and self-development programmes,
- public relations and social media marketing,
- hospitality and guest care - helping in guesthouses (reception, housekeeping), retreat and community centres, charity shops, artisan bakery, coffee shops (barista role), hotels (waitress, bartender),
-off-grid permaculture co-living (gardening, olive harvesting, pruning, weeding, DIY, herbal medicine,...),
- pet sitting for furry friends (especially dogs and cats),
- babysitting for kids aged 3-7.

Generally speaking, I am open and receptive to change, love learning new things and sharing what I have learned on my journey so far, also very adaptable, emotionally intelligent and thus coexist well with different kinds of personalities.

It took me some time to be able to put my experience and feelings into words when it comes to my stay in Ilektra's home. But as I've been walking along the beautiful Cypriot coast today, the words finally started to flow naturally. Just warning for other future volunteers, the following lines are going to be deeply personal and not brief at all.… read more You can scroll down anytime. :) This review has double purpose: to share my story with other fellow Workawayers as well as to be a gentle and anchoring reminder for myself in times I tend to forget who I truly am.

I came to this place right before the start of summer without any plan and idea how long I am going to stay. Finally I spent almost three months there. The place itself is a masterpiece of Mother Nature (different shades of color green, majestic trees offering shade and relaxation for dozens of butterflies, wild goats strolling around, countless medicine plants, smell of oregano in the air, breathtaking sunsets...just to give you a few examples), it makes all your senses getting sharpened immediately. Its omnipresent nurturing power and calmness is a gentle invitation to anyone to just pause, getting oneself grounded and...coming back to one's roots. I chose Ilektra's place as an escape-route from hectic and overcrowded Athens, also thinking that my 'healing process' is almost done, how far I was from the truth by that time. The truth is that the pure healing started pretty soon after my arrival..it took time and it was not easy at all. Firstly, once I started feeling fully relaxed and at ease, it was also a signal for my body to start its healing process by resurfacing many unpleasant or even painful feelings, memories in order to dissolve any tensions. From escaping this kind of reality and literally hiding before myself as well as outer world for some time I finally ended up surrendering to its process. This surrender had a reason. Once you are blessed by time to spend enough time out of civilization, living this wild nature experience, every part of yourself starts feeling that nurturing and loving presence of Nature...you can not help but intuitively start trusting her wisdom (that inner knowing that She always has your back)...so you surrender. The reward is that you can suddenly see yourself not separate from the outer world, but being deeply interconnected with everything and everyone. For me this is the most magical power of Nature – in her „ability“ to be a kind remembrance (anytime we need it) of the purest essence of who we truly are. To sum it up, I left Ilektra's place with peace of mind, regained trust both in myself and the world around me and also with innermost desire to keep living closely connected to Nature, giving her back at least a fraction of what she unconditionally gave me while (hopefully) helping other human beings to reclaim back their power and to heal themselves.

Ilektra is a walking example (and one of the greatest teachers for me) that everything is possible once you believe and are determined enough to follow your dreams when it comes to the way you want to live your life. She is a beautiful soul, pure Earth woman with strong gut feelings, open to any idea, very generous and dedicated Mum with two beautiful and joyful kids...and cute animal family.:) You can feel completely free and be yourself in her presence and be sure that whatever she says, she means it! She will never put any pressure on you, you are free to do whatever you want. Me, I really enjoyed washing dishes:)))), taking care of her organic garden and animal family, playing with her little boy Vasilis, cooking for everyone and found newborn passion for medicine plants. :) You can learn a lot of practical things from Ilektra, she did enormous amount of work during such a short period of time to create a harmonious living in beautiful Skiathos mountains. I am very blessed that our paths crossed and will always keep space for she and her family in my prayers. Her home became also my second home and I am sure that sooner or later I will come back. :)

Lucie is a very nice person. The quality of her job is always good. She helped me a lot with constructions in my house , she cleaned always everything around although the very hot weather of this summer. She helped with my vegetables field and my cheakpeas and olives.
