Hi, it's Julien here !
I have always felt a strong interest in creation.
That’s what led me to study art and design, then to spend a year in 3D animation and special effects, before finally turning towards watchmaking.
This is partly thanks to a friend, Mao, who had started working in this field and often sent me photos of his work. I was immediately hooked.
During my three years of higher education in watch design, I confirmed my love for the artistic crafts and craftsmanship in general. It was also at that time that I met Jeanne, first a classmate, and today my girlfriend. As we got to know each other, we discovered that we shared the same passion for the artistic crafts.
I have always wanted to travel freely, to discover cultures, people, and landscapes.
I love traveling abroad ; I have already had the chance to discover England, Spain, and Portugal.
I have always been very attracted to Italy, but never really had the opportunity to properly explore the many riches of this country, even though I have already been to Rome in my childhood.
I love the history of different peoples, and today I want to keep discovering and learning about other cultures.
I now understand that I really need to do manual tasks that also require thought and technical skills to fill fulfilled.
At certain points in my life, I realised that what I loved was helping people.
So today, I would like to be able to combine the two by learning new things, passing on my knowledge and helping people, so Workaway seems like a really great idea to me.

Hi, I'm Jeanne !
I love discovering new things to do, people to meet, places to see and wanting to do everything at the same time. Some may call it indecision, I'd rather say curiosity.
My most consistent interests are drawing and building or fixing various things. That's why watchmaking design has been an obvious choice for my studies ! It helped me develop my creativity, learn plenty of new skills and get to discover various craftsmanships.
During and outside my studies, I got to travel a few times for several days : Stockholm, Amsterdam, Rome, Barcelone, New-York, London...
I can't wait to discover many more landscapes, cultures and people during travels ! I look forward to learn new crafts, to exchange views, skills, learn new languages and traditions !
That's why I'm so glad to have met Julien, my boyfriend, who seem to share my point of view. Now I have a travel buddy, as eager as me to meet people from around the world and share experiences, while making the whole trip more organized and reassuring.
I really see travel as a way to learn more about ourselves while learning about others, I think it leads to confidence, new perspective, personal and social skills. I intend to learn it all !

Since we began Workaway, we learned how to :
• Feed many animals (goats, horse, pigs, cats, dogs, rabbits)
• Weed and plant in a garden and a greenhouse
• Make fires
• Build wooden boxes from scratch
• Sand wooden furnitures
• Cut wood
• Set up tiles
• Make a stone wall
• Sand and paint ceiling and walls

We love learning, crafting, creating, building and doing all of this while meeting people !

In our studies we learned how to :

We both enjoy fixing all kinds of stuff, craft, drawing, engineering and creating/designing.

Julien also loves sports, such as weightlifting, rugby, mountain biking, combat sports, etc.
He loves cooking and eating !
He is also interested in the idea of self-sufficiency.
He really wants to deepen his knowledge of nature, such as plants, animals, culture, biotopes and the environment.

Jeanne likes to do little things that require patience and precision such as folding paper boats with beer tags, untangling knots in necklaces, crochet.
She also likes to read, either short stories or recipes to learn. And if she can nap later she loves to be woken up soon enough to watch the sunrise.
