Hello, we are two students of fine arts in Poland starting to feel the effects of burnout and loneliness epidemic of our generation. Trying to make sense of it all we're looking for connections with people above all while also getting some inspiration back. Maybe finding a place that gives a feeling of home we haven't felt for a while. Me and Zuza love to help and will do our best to learn the skills needed :)

We both spend time experimenting and learning different art forms, so that's a proof we're attentive listeners and not afraid of new things :). We will gladly help with physical work and usual chores. We don't have problems communicating in shared tasks as well as working alone. If you have a bit of patience to explain in detail what you want us to learn and do we promise to do our best

We spend most of our time in front of a computer or inside a studio. It's good to have a break to spend time in nature or doing a different kind of work. I think of myself as a person you can do anything with. Parties, bookclubs, hiking etc. I (Julia) do have a resting sad face so please don't assume I don't enjoy your company! Zuza likes to talk more but prefers quieter environments, no parties and being out much, she prefers evenings with movies and books and small circles :)

It’s a shame to write this as we “ended on good terms” but the need to inform other workawayers is more important as some boundaries were crossed and all of us (who met there) were misinformed by the project that seemed organized and expected “no nonsense” from people contacting.I also believe old reviews are true but much has changed and some … read more information probably was hidden about the purpose of the project. It would take too long to tell everything so I will try to list more important issues. Terrible living conditions: mold everywhere, dirty water (on the first day we heard the request from another person from clean water, but the host said its too expensive, even though he himself does Not drink the sink water. Juices leaking out of the trash that wasnt cleaned for months (later it caused ant infestation). The task was to clean the space for us. A day later we were told we actually cleaned it for potential air bnb guests and are supposed to move to another place, where locked cats were neglected for months. Feces on all surfaces and matresses, but the host decided wiping chairs is enough for cleaning. As two people had allergies we were told we can just take pills, we knew there were cats in the area so that equals cats in our beds. Allergy didn't matter though as we got headaches from ammonia and refused to move. Air bnb business is not approved by workaway, but host thinks he deserves free labor because the world is against him. What do volunteers get for hard work for his business? Moldy rooms and moldy food (that was bought rarely and on special, there was little to eat that wasnt expired or gone bad. I will skip sexist remarks hidden as jokes and telling us to cook for him. But arguing that we waste time cooking because we should be working all day and threatening to kick us out because its transactional (the host gets free help for many hours, you get an allergy attack and a moldy vegetable if he rememebers to buy it..) was too far gone. Except for physical work we also did free therapy. The profile says no politics talk but you will be forced to listen to rants about young people being bad, conspiracy theories, hosts past girlfriends #redacted#. Bad mouthing other workawayers from the past or that were still there (and working hard) was a regular occurrence. Tasks connected to the station were prepared to do in a way that doesnt restore but worsen the state of the station. Wanting to do it properly is seen as a waste of time. I’m sure the host will be surprised since i worked hard just smiled and stayed quiet. But some things went to far and if you can’t treat and host people in humane conditions, you shouldn’t do it at all.
