My name is Jorinde, I am 19 years old and I'm graduating from high school this year and would like to go abroad afterwards to discover new things and opportunities. I am a creative and nature enthusiast. I also enjoy reading and spending time with friends and family. I like to get to know new people and ways of life. At the moment I don't know what I want to do later and I'm currently trying out lots of new things. That's why I want to go to another country to get out of my familiar surroundings.
My hometown Jena is a small city in Thuringia, Germany with about 120,000 inhabitants. Through my parents, who live partly in the countryside, I have already got to know life away from the big city and can well imagine living there for a while. I like to go hiking to get out of the city every now and then. I also have a passion for getting creative. For example, I design calendars for my family or make things for my friends for their birthdays. I developed this passion as a small child and it has stayed with me to this day.

I‘ve been learning English since third grade and my language skills have improved a lot (also because of my Workaway experience in Ireland). But I am interested in becoming fluent in English. In my opinion you can never speak, write or listen to englisch enough, because there is always space for improvement. If I get the chance I would like to learn another language as well.

I have already helped several times on a farm in South Tyrol. There are dogs, cats, chickens, cows and pigs. With two friends, I mainly helped out with household chores, as there is a guesthouse for guests next to the stable. We helped clean the rooms and cook food. Above all, we were busy raking hay from the meadows so that it could later be used to make hay pillows, schnapps and other things. The farm was in the middle of a mountain in the Passeier Valley, north of Meran.
I had a lot of fun working there for food and supplies, but at the same time it was of course very tiring and I was happy to have some free time. I was always surrounded by other people, be it my friends, the family that lives there or other helpers. Although there was often a lot of social contact, the joy of getting to know people better always outweighed that.
I also got to experience a workaway in Ireland that taught me a lot about the wellbeing of horses as well as how to work both independent and in a group.

I've tried a lot of hobbies, like horse riding, playing volleyball, singing in a choir and dancing. I rode for about six years from the age of seven and had a lot of fun back then. I started dancing at the same age. I tried different styles, such as non-professional ballet and hip-hop. A year ago I stopped my dance lessons due to the stress of school. I'm currently reading a lot and enjoying my free time. However, I would like to take up some of my hobbies again.
