Hello, you lovely Workawayers!

I am Michael, 36 years old, living in Berlin, Germany. I work in a school, tutoring and helping kids with migration backgrounds in English and German. Classes 2 through 12, so there is always madness and happiness alike :)

I studied International Business in my Bachelors and Media- and Communications Management in my Masters. Worked for companies in Marketing, Avertising- and PR-Agencies. Two and a half years ago i quit because I ssaw no use in doing what I was doing. So I stepped out of this field. I did a ten-day Vipassana Course (A silence and meditation retreat) and shortly after that I walked on the Camino de Santiago (started in León). From there on I felt the need to rekindle the spirit and reconnect with nature again. Do good things for others and help nature to, essentially, not die. So two years ago I walked a part of the Camino in Germany and did the Camino de Francesco in Italy from Assis to Rome and last year the Camino Portugues. I walked 700 km through Germany with my backpack and tent to collect money for underprivileged schoolkids.

I feel the need to be outside, walk, discover and be out of this grey, loud and in parts cold (weather and people) city. I work for two Instiitutions for which I do volunteer work. As a teamleader for language vacations for youngsters and also a kind of Salvation Army. In Berlin they have a programm, where we cook with kids and teach them how to eat easily and healthily. Those kids are not necessarily from weaker, social backgrounds.
Every school is welcome to subscribe and we either go to the school or they come to our train wagon, where we cook :)

Ok, before I keep on babbling even more, I will leave you with this quick impression of myself. Looking forward to be in Norway (for my first time) soon and experience the organic farm life as close as possible :)

I have worked on a farm in Norway last week. Feeding animasl, weeding, grass cutting, etc.

I can do handywork, if I am told what to do, no problem.

I have a drivers license.

I can work independently or in a team.

Housesitting, babysitting, etc.

I guess I can adapt quite quickly to new tasks and work on my own, finding out the best way for you and me.
