Hello, my name is Hiroki, and I am a photographer and videographer from Japan.

I am in my early 30s and enjoy both creative work and hands-on craftsmanship. Before becoming a photographer, I studied furniture making and worked as a joiner, furniture maker, and carpenter building houses. Today, in addition to my photography work, my wife and I run a small guest accommodation in Japan. Because of these experiences, I enjoy creating things with my hands and finding practical solutions through making and building.

People often describe me as thoughtful, calm, and attentive to detail. I may be a little quiet at first, but I enjoy connecting with people through shared interests and experiences.

My native language is Japanese, and my English is still very basic. I am looking forward to learning more through meeting people from different cultures.

I love spending time in nature and learning practical skills. Recently I have become interested in gardening, natural-style vegetable growing, and self-sufficient living. I also enjoy camping, collecting wild edible plants in the mountains, and learning about hunting through trapping.

I am happy to help with DIY projects, woodworking, gardening, farming tasks, cooking, and cleaning. I also have a four-year-old son, so I enjoy spending time with children as well.

The main reason I joined Workaway is that I want to experience everyday life in other countries rather than simply travel as a tourist. I am especially interested in farming, nature-based projects, architecture, craftsmanship, and art.

I am particularly drawn to Nordic countries because of their connection to nature, design culture, and way of life. My wife and I are interested in creating a lifestyle that feels closer to nature, and I hope to learn from people who are already living in that way.

I believe my background in craftsmanship and photography allows me to contribute in a variety of ways. More importantly, I enjoy learning new skills, helping where I can, and sharing experiences with others.

I look forward to meeting new people, learning from different cultures, and contributing wherever I can.
