Hi! I'm Hilary, a positive, hard working, friendly, respectful and peaceful non-smoker. I love nature, animals, people and respect the environment and those around me. Curious, I have an enquiring mind, and have an empathic nature. I love preparing and sharing food, conversation, reading, art and music, and thrive on the unique opportunities for connection and cultural exchange created by travel.

A successful cultural producer and sustainable events consultant, I work predominately in the arts, as part of the team delivering high profile live festivals and events, such as the Commonwealth Games and Edinburgh Fringe, and I also have experience in TV production, social media, and copywriting.

Many of my jobs allow me to work remotely, and I've recently been enjoying combining my love of travel and my love of animals with international pet and house sitting via the website Trusted Housesitters. I have a five star ratings for looking after both dogs and cats, my most recent sit being looking after a house cat in Malta.

I'm passionate about inclusivity in the arts and implementing initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of events. A lifelong learner, I try to tread lightly in life, and am excited by the opportunities Workaway offers. I have a degree in English from the University of Glasgow, a clean drivers license, and hold both a European and UK Passport, so feel very grateful that Brexit has not limited my opportunities to work and travel. I'm keen to improve my language skills, and am learning Spanish and French.

I prefer experiences to material things, and am passionate in helping others declutter. I offer practical and compassionate help and can transform cluttered spaces into calm, clean, and functional spaces. Removing the physical clutter from a space often also symbiotically removes emotional clutter which I find hugely rewarding.

Last year, I spent time cruising on the french canals south of Paris on a dutch barge, and fell in love with life on the canal. I'd like to learn more about boat life and navigation, and improve my french and spanish. I love gardening, cooking, yoga, music, reading, and the arts.

I'm happiest in nature, and seek to make meaningful connections. A good listener, I strive to live authentically, to be the best version of myself, and to continue to learn about myself and others. I seek to leave a positive impact during my time on this beautiful planet.
