Hello dear Workaway community!

We´re Eva (41) and Jörg (49), along with our son Aljoscha (4) and we´re currently based in Berlin, Germany.

The past few years have been quite a challenge for us; despite an intensive search, we haven´t been able to find a new apartment in Berlin and now have to leave our current one. However, we see this situation as a chance to embark on a new path! Our dream is to shift our lives from the city to nature, and ideally, into a community setting.

We´re really excited to travel, meet new people and families, and for a while, be part of a wonderful community until we find our own place. We are confident that even in a short time, you can build amazing connections.

Aljoscha is a wonderful child full of energy and endless joy for movement, climbing and swimming. He loves all kinds of animals and plants, and enjoys playing in nature and with other children.

Starting in November 2025, we´ll be putting all our belongings into storage and leaving our home in Berlin. We´ll be taking our jobs with us, but with reduced hours. We are aware, it might sometimes be challenging to manage this without our usual childcare and on top of contributing to our hosts´ tasks. However, we are absolutely confident that we´ll find a good balance to fully embrace this adventure.

Our big wish for the next one or two years is to discover beautiful places and meet wonderful people who can accompany us on our journey to our new home - exactly where that will be, we don't know yet, but definetely not in Berlin anymore.

Family and spending time with children are very important to us. Beside the skills and interests we´ve described below, we´d be very happy to help out with your children.

Hallo liebe Workaway-Gemeinschaft!

Wir sind Eva (41) und Jörg (49), zusammen mit unserem Sohn Aljoscha (4) und wohnen in Berlin, Deutschland.

Die letzten Jahre waren für uns eine Herausforderung, da wir trotz intensiver Suche in Berlin keine neue Wohnung finden konnten und unsere aktuelle verlassen müssen. Diese Situation sehen wir als Chance, einen neuen Weg zu gehen! Unser Traum ist es, unseren Lebensmittelpunkt aus der Stadt in die Natur zu verlegen - und sehr gerne auch in ein Leben in Gemeinschaft.

Wir sind voller Reiselust und Freude daran, neue Menschen und Familien kennenzulernen - und für eine Weile Teil einer schönen Gemeinschaft zu sein, bis wir selbst unseren Ort gefunden haben. Wir sind uns sicher, dass man auch in kurzer Zeit wunderbare Verbindungen knüpfen kann.

Aljoscha ist ein tolles Kind voller Energie und unerschöpflicher Freude an Bewegung, Klettern und Schwimmen. Er liebt alle Arten von Tieren und Pflanzen und das Spiel in der Natur und mit anderen Kindern.

Ab November 2025 werden wir unseren gesamten Hausstand einlagern und unser Zuhause in Berlin verlassen. Unsere Jobs nehmen wir mit, aber mit reduzierten Arbeitszeiten. Uns ist bewusst, dass es manchmal eine Herausforderung sein kann, dies ohne die gewohnte Kinderbetreuung und zusätzlich zu den Aufgaben bei unseren Hosts zu bewältigen. Doch wir sind absolut zuversichtlich, dass wir eine gute Balance finden werden, um uns auf dieses Abenteuer voll und ganz einlassen zu können.

Unser großer Wunsch ist es, in den nächsten ein bis zwei Jahren wunderschöne Orte und tolle Menschen kennenzulernen, die uns auf unserem Weg zu unserem neuen Zuhause begleiten – wo genau das sein wird, wissen wir noch nicht, aber sicher nicht mehr in Berlin.

Familie und die gemeinsame Zeit mit Kindern hat für uns einen hohen Stellenwert. Neben unseren unten beschriebenen Fähigkeiten und Interessen unterstützen wir euch sehr gerne auch mit euren Kindern.

Wir freuen uns riesig darauf, von euch zu hören und mit euch in Kontakt zu treten!

Our native language is German and we both speak English fluently. Jörg also speaks fluent Spanish, which I (Eva) would love to learn more of - I´ve laid a foundation, but that´s about it for now . I also speak a bit of French. --- Unsere Muttersprache ist deutsch und wir sprechen beide fließend Englisch. Jörg spricht außerdem fließend spanisch, was ich (Eva) sehr gern noch lernen würde. Ein Grundstein ist gelegt, aber mehr leider noch nicht. Ich spreche außerdem etwas Französisch.

We bring a lot of passion and initiative!
I'm Eva, a qualified interior architect, and I've been freelancing for six years. My interests extend far beyond my field; I'm especially fascinated by building with ecological materials. Up to now, my role in this has mostly involved planning and overseeing projects rather than getting my hands dirty. However, I love getting hands-on with Workaway projects, where I can share my skills and learn even more practical techniques.
Outside of work, sailing and being on the water are my great passions.

Jörg is incredibly versatile. He's a theater actor but also a trained herbalist. He's worked in gastronomy and loves good food. In recent years, he's delved deeply into syntropic agroforestry and permaculture, and for the past two years, he's been working for a Berlin NGO focusing on participation and bioregionalism.
For the past three years, Joschi has attended a "Kinderladen" (a type of parent-run cooperative kindergarten) in Berlin.

Was wir mitbringen? Eine Menge Leidenschaft und Tatkraft!
Ich, Eva, bin studierte Innenarchitektin und seit sechs Jahren freiberuflich tätig. Mein Interesse geht weit über meinen Fachbereich hinaus. Besonders fasziniert mich das Bauen mit ökologischen Baustoffen, wobei ich bisher eher planerische und bauleitende Tätigkeiten ausgeübt habe, als tatsächlich Hand anzulegen. Bei Workaway-Projekten bringe ich mich gerne handwerklich ein und teile mein Wissen, freue mich aber auch sehr über zusätzliche praktische Erfahrung. Abseits davon ist meine große Leidenschaft das Segeln und das Wasser.

Jörg ist sehr vielseitig. Er ist Theaterschauspieler, aber auch ausgebildeter Pflanzenheilkundler. Er hat in der Gastronomie gearbeitet und liebt gutes Essen. In den letzten Jahren hat er sich intensiv mit syntropischem Agroforst und Permakultur beschäftigt und arbeitet seit zwei Jahren für eine Berliner NGO mit den Schwerpunkten Partizipation und Bioregionalität.
Joschi hat die letzten 3 Jahren einen Berliner Kinderladen besucht.
