Hi! I'm Ethan. I enjoy spending time in nature, exploring new cultures and continually learning about and connecting with the people and world around me.
I'm a school teacher by profession, having taught various grades/age levels, from 5 to 18 yrs. old, and in a variety of different programs including a high school program for "at-risk" teens. I've also taught in the elementary school classroom, as well as Jr. high and elementary physical education.
I recently left my position to travel and pursue a lifestyle that allows me to care for and live more in harmony with nature. Incorporating education and nature into my life would be the best of both worlds!
I have always been a spiritual seeker and explorer in some form, whether it be through travel or my hobbies/activities which include yoga, learning how to surf, qi gong, meditation, hiking, gardening, and talking philosophy - especially the eastern philosophies. I live a healthy and active lifestyle and am open to a variety of work experiences, with an interest in permaculture and regenerative / sustainable / organic farming, education, and various retreats (yoga, meditation, etc.).
I have spent time in Europe, Asia, Central America, and most recently South America (Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, and Uruguay).

At this point in my travels/life, I'm looking for deeper, more meaningful experiences that allow me to better engage with, and help support, the projects and communities that I am a part of.

In addition to teaching experience, I have worked as an EMT/ambulance driver, and also have a variety of other job experiences and skills. I have recently spent a total of eight months working in a tree-house eco-hostel in the forest performing a full range of hostel duties (reception, check-in / hostel tours, maintenance, facilitating and leading group meditations, etc.).
I have experience with gardening, general maintenance, and animal care / farm work.
I also enjoy practicing and teaching qi gong (a form of moving meditation) and self defense, and I enjoy sharing this practice with others. I am a responsible and hard-working individual, physically and mentally fit, with an overall strong work ethic.

I travel to connect with nature, as well as to learn about different cultures and increase my knowledge/skill base for sustainable, regenerative, and organic living. I look forward to learning from others and also to sharing any knowledge and skills of my own. I will always be respectful of your home and your space.
