I am Cathy. I lived my childhood in the city, in Strasbourg, but I was always deeply impregnated with nature because my family owned a chalet in the Vosges forest where we went very often. Studying animal behavior was my first goal when I started studying biology. These studies led to a doctorate in genetics, but animal psychology remains one of my passions today. I migrated to Paris more than 25 years ago to work there as a science journalist. Then, when my sons were born, I converted to teaching, much more suited to family life.
I still live in the inner suburbs of Paris, because I am blocked there by my job, but today that my sons are adults, I feel a deep need to mark a new turn in my life.
Parisian life has never been pleasant to me, even if it is my current life and I have many of my friends there. So, I organized for this year, an annualized half-time which will allow me to be free for 7 months from February 2024.
I have so far traveled abroad with my backpack. I now plan to travel and explore, mainly in France. I want to reconnect with life in the provinces, reconnect with nature, animals, art that I practice again a little. Meeting people with the same needs as me. Share, discover, imagine.
In particular, I want to discover horses and improve my English.
These 7 months should help me build a larger project in a few years.

Je suis Cathy. J'ai vécu mon enfance en ville, à Strasbourg, mais j'ai toujours été profondément imprégnée de nature car ma famille possédait un chalet dans la forêt vosgienne où nous allions très souvent. Étudier le comportement animal était mon premier objectif lorsque j'ai commencé à étudier la biologie. Ces études ont dévié vers un doctorat en génétique, mais la psychologie animale reste aujourd'hui une de mes passions. J'ai migré vers Paris il y a plus de 25 ans pour y travailler en tant que journaliste scientifique. Puis, lorsque mes fils sont nés, je me suis reconvertie à l’enseignement, bien plus adapté à une vie de famille.
Je vis toujours en proche banlieue de Paris, car j’y suis bloquée par mon métier, mais aujourd’hui que mes fils sont adultes, j’éprouve un profond besoin de marquer un nouveau virage dans ma vie.
La vie parisienne ne m’a jamais été agréable, même si c’est ma vie actuelle et que j’y ai beaucoup de mes amis. Alors, j’ai organisé pour cette année, un mi-temps annualisé qui me permettra d’être libre pendant 7 mois dès février 2024.
J'ai jusqu'à présent voyagé à l'étranger avec mon sac à dos. Je prévois maintenant de voyager et d’explorer, essentiellement en France. Je souhaite renouer avec la vie en province, me reconnecter à la nature, aux animaux, à l’art que je pratique à nouveau un peu. Rencontrer des personnes habitées par les mêmes besoins que moi. Partager, découvrir, imaginer.
Je souhaite en particulier découvrir les chevaux et améliorer mon anglais.
Ces 7 mois devraient m’aider à construire un projet plus vaste dans quelques années.

Que habilidades tienes?

Always curious, I like to learn and transmit to others. I love art (drawing, ceramics, sculpture…), music and creating with my hands. I like doing construction work, gardening, taking care of animals...
I also need to practice English.
I don't have any particular skills, but the desire to be useful in a warm atmosphere.

Toujours curieuse, j'aime apprendre et transmettre aux autres. J'aime l'art (dessin, céramique, sculpture…), la musique et créer avec mes mains. J'aime faire des travaux de construction, jardiner, m'occuper d'animaux...
J'ai aussi besoin de pratiquer l'anglais.
Je n’ai aucune compétence précise, mais l’envie d’être utile dans une ambiance bienveillante.
