  I am British, living in rural Portugal, I have a small house with some land close to the village of Alferce. I live here with 2 dogs and a cat. It is very peaceful with beautiful views. I have the benefit of being in nature but close to the village and the small mountain town of Monchique. You can experience a slower way of life, the culture and experience local customs. I work as a communication coach and forest-bathing guide, and as well as loving being close to nature, I enjoy walking the trails and paths in the local area daily.

  I can share information about the local area and the food, and I can recommend places to visit and help with learning or improving spoken English. I can guide forest walks in the local area.
  
  I have lived in different countries and travelled all over the world. I love meeting people from different cultures and hearing their stories. I am particularly interested in food and travel stories.

  I need help with the general/light maintenance of the property and land. This could include some carpentry, shelving and decorating. Some of the tasks we can do together.
  
  I might need help with house- and pet-sitting from time to time.

  Alojamiento

  I have a self-contained studio attached to the house with a bathroom and fridge. This sleeps 1 or 2 people and has its own access and key, so you have privacy. There is a small swimming pool and space to park a car or a small campervan.
  I will provide 3 meals a day, and we can eat together.

  An ideal location for exploring the south-west of Portugal. Along with excellent walking and cycling trails from the door of the house, the stunning surf beaches on the west coast are 60 - 90 min away. The towns, beaches and watersports on the south coast are 35 - 60 min away. For culture and history, Silves is 40 min away.
  
  It is a low-key, peaceful place where you can see a stunning sunrise from the house, relax on the property, take a swim and play with the dogs.
  
  There is a local bar and cafe in the village, and I have friendly, helpful neighbours who sometimes come together to share food, but it's not a place for loud music or parties. No smoking inside the accommodation or house, but smoking outside is fine.
