- Searching for volunteers for Autumn 2023 -
This host is located in the the Northern part of Norway (Nesseby Municipality). You will help a Sami family with reindeer. I am Katrin, a 39 year old woman. I have my own reindeer herd, and will need some help in autumn while the reindeer calf marking and slaughtering seasonis going on. The reindeer are gathered into corrals, where the new calves are marked by cutting a pattern into their ear with a knife. All the Sami reindeer herders have their own unique earmark for their reindeer. In the same period, we are also selecting out reindeer for slaughtering. If you come here volunteering, you will join me and my family in this unique period and you will get to experience this old tradition.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

In the first two weeks, we didn't work much, but after reindeer marking, we worked from morning to night. It all depends on reindeer, which are not domesticated, so you have to be flexible to work.
