Hi everyone, my name is Piero and I want to welcome you to my farm! I myself have travelled and worked in countries around the world and I treasure these experiences for the happiness and friendship they have brought me. Now, with my own place and organic farm, I want to return the favour!
I live just 20 minutes away from the coast and 20 minutes away from the beautiful Majella mountain so we are never far from a hike with stunning views or a swim in the sea. While we are in a quiet country town we are close to small stores, a bar and cafe, as well as many hiking and mountain biking trails. If you would like to explore the night life there are several clubs and discos in the coastal city of Pescara or there are more chill pubs that hold jam sessions and live music in neighboring towns.

The main transport hubs would be Pescara (where you can arrive by plane, train or bus) or Chieti Scalo (train or bus). I would be happy to pick you up from Chieti Scalo (train/bus station), or Pescara (airport, train/bus station) and welcome you to the area.

On the farm we grow our own food, we save our seeds, we have chickens, olives and vineyards. Some of the jobs are daily (e.g feeding the chickens) and some others are connected to the season (e.g seeding, harvesting, preparing jams). We are not vegetarian/vegan but we have any problem in offering such meals, we normally prepare meals and eat together as a way of sharing culture and appreciating the work we have done in the garden. I do not smoke but I have no problems at all in hosting someone who smokes.
At home there is also my brother who lives downstairs.
We are a fairly social household but we are peaceful and do appreciate a good nights sleep after a long day of work! On the other hand, we enjoy hanging out and having fun together, playing, singing and drinking, especially in the summer time; there are many festive events and celebrations that keep us entertained!

I really hope you will enjoy your stay!
    See you soon!

    You will learn

    - HOW TO PRODUCE YOUR OWN FOOD: seeding starting from the seeds, taking care of the seedlings, transplanting the little plants in the garden, helping with irrigation, understand how and when doing the right operations in the garden, harvesting, learn how to preserve and p, collecting the seed to start everything again the next season.

    - HOW TO COOK TRADITIONAL ITALIAN DISHES: To take advantage of what we grow on the farm, we can prepare several traditional dishes that are both delicious and fun to create and share together .

    - HOW TO CREATE TOOLS AND: on the farm we tent to make everything we need instead of buying so you could learn how to wood work, build things we use around the farm and how different objects are used in farm operations.

Some things I consider ‘a must’ in Abruzzo:
    - ARROSTICINI - little pieces of sheep meat threaded on a wooden stick. It is a very social dinner, like a BBQ, and it is great for the summer time!
    - PIZZA – I could teach you how to prepare the dough and introduce you to some of our favourite ways to use ingrediants on pizza
    - HOME MADE PASTA - starting from flour and water, we will work the dough with the machine, cut into shape, cook and eat it. I will also introduce you to some home made sauces we like to use and you could even help me prepare them if you like.
    - TRADITIONAL SWEETS - such as Chiacchere, Cicerechiata, Pizzelle, Parrozzo, pasta frolla, biscuits, ciambelloni and so on… we love our sweets!

    Ayuda

House keeping, feeding the animals, seeding, watering the plants, looking after the garden.
It depends on the season: seeding, harvesting, pruning etc.
Making or processing food such as olive oil, wine, jams, tomato sauce, sweets etc.
If you are interested in any of these particular processes please get in touch; we can organize your stay at the right time so you can participate in the activity you are most interested in.

As a business I keep bees and produce honey and pollen and this is something I work on myself. However, if you are interested I can show you what I do as a beekeeper but your help is more so required in the garden. The bees require a healthy environment to produce the pollen and honey so you are helping me just by taking care of the garden!

Your help is welcome 5 hours/day for 5 days so you will have 2 days off We are very flexible on helping hours and you can organize them as you prefer, but you will not be doing more than 25 hours per week. If you want you can help more hours per day and having an additional day off, it's up to you, we just want to get the tasks done. We normally wake up at 6am and start working at 7am, but that's vary on the months of the year, it could be later or it could be earlier.
