We have a town house in the centre of the town of Órgiva and we are starting to
build and create a new garden.
The majority of the help needed will be based outside on the land but still there may
be odd jobs in the house.
We have two dogs, & three cats.
We ask our helpers to work 5 hours per day 5 days a week in exchange for board and lodging (good food and great accommodation).
We have had helpers from all parts of the world for more than 10 years as previously we had a large property. We are very sociable and our house always enjoys plenty of visitors and Helpers are always included in the activities. We work hard but enjoy life too!

The property is a two story town house, built originally in 1920 and refurbished by us in 2021. It has a large town garden, close to 2000m2 including a swimming
pool.
We are totally redesigning the garden which includes a lot of pruning, digging, planting and building ….. and so plenty to do.

Our house is in the centre of Órgiva, a very typical Spanish rural town of about 8000 inhabitants and with a long history of welcoming travelers from all around the world.
Plenty of bars (with free tapas here!!!), shops, banks and a weekly market including a great craft market as well.
As we are in The Valley of the Alpujarra we are in the middle of the mountains and there are lots of walks and hiking available. Plus of course we have both the Mediterranean (southwards) and the city of Granada (northwards) less than an hours drive away.

Bernie and Kay were very welcoming and treated me like family. I had an amazing time. They have a beautyful garden and it was fun helping them. There was always someone close by if I had questions or needed help. Thank you for everything!

Bernie and Kay offer a great environment for workaway guests. They are very welcoming, their home is comfortable and food excellent - especially the fruit salad !! I really appreciated the opportunity to help out in their beautiful garden and learn about gardening in southern Spain. Thank you!

It's felt very natural and comfortable to work and stay at Kay's and Bernard's for nearly 4 weeks. Hi, Maria spent 3 weeks with us this February 2020. She came at quite short notice but she was great. She spent most of the time in our garden tidying and weeding and did all she was asked with a smile. She was bright and capable of working on her own when she was given a task. Franz was with us for a few weeks this February (2017) and we wish he was able to stay longer. He was an ideal worker. He did as he was asked and did a great job.
