We started with a tent 28 years ago and slowly built our house and gardens by hand with a lot of recycling. Lots of small building jobs and repairs to do- handyman type jobs around the place-so any carpenters,builders/handy persons, masons, plumbers ,solar electricians would be warmly welcomed! We mix small batches of cement to continue our beautiful medieval stone and brick wall (inspired by Earthships and Gaudi) also building a waterfall and smoker around our pizza oven. The work is physical and can be challenging . It helps if you are used to physical work !
We also work in our surrounding grounds, vegetable garden, orchard, food forest , weed management, harvesting, mulching , seeding and topping up hugel kultures and permaculture inspired planting...so gardeners or people interested in deep ecology, self reliant , sustainable lifestyle welcome .
Giri's work background is in the community arts/ health industry as a performer musician, creative specialist working in aged care, hospitals or community venues, speaks italian and some french and bits of other languages. Jo is a psychotherapist counsellor specialising in process work, conscious parenting , NVC (Non Violent communication) .
Entire community is off grid -we use solar power and catch rain water. No rubbish collection-We ask everyone to take your landfill rubbish out with them.
You are welcome to eat with us (we eat a varied diet including clean meat and fish ) If needed you can prepare your own.
