  We are a Dutch/Belgian couple, living with our 8 year old son in a small village halfway between Bologna and Firenze. Coming from the city (Brussels and Amsterdam) ten years ago we chose to live an outdoor life. Mieke works from home as an editor. Jurriaan works around the house and garden, has built a wood cabin/garage, he usually does the cooking,... We renovated our house, but we still have a lot of plans (build a clay pizza oven, ...) and we could use help with a lot of little and bigger jobs around and in our beautiful countryhouse.

  We love languages (we speak Dutch, English, Italian, Mieke also French and Jurriaan a bit of German). We can teach about eco friendly gardening, carpentry, outdoor life, we love different cuisines and can teach making bread,... We are ready to share all our talents and experiences with you.

  We have a big house and garden with a lot of possibilities for helping hands. A lot depends on what someone is able or willing to do, but experience with (eco friendly) gardening and DIY construction is much appreciated. Babysitting is not necessary, but optional. Native speakers who want to teach our son some English are also welcome.

  Alojamiento

  Private room with king size bed, small private bathroom with shower, private access to the garden. It's a very quiet place, and in summer it never gets too hot even without air conditioning (we are at 700 m).
  The room where you will stay is part of an apartment that we also will be renting out now and then. So it's better to plan your stay in advance. But there is always the possibility to sleep on a comfortable sofa bed in our work studio (with less privacy and no private bathroom).
  We prefer to share all meals. We eat at very regular times and Oskar goes to bed early, especially for Italian standards (in school weeks before 20.30).

  We live in a small village with a lot of families with children, there is a bar/pizzeria (closed in winter) within walking distance, but no other shops nearby! We live in the middle of nature with beautiful views and great opportunities for hiking. There is little public transport, but we can give a lift to the train station of Grizzana Morandi.
