… read more lots of trees and the sound of birds is beautiful! You can immerse yourself in a natural life. I normally helped with weeding in the herb garden and feeding the chickens and ducks. Unfortunately it had been raining for a couple of days, so I couldn’t help much. But we also enjoyed cooking and watching a movie, their cooking is amazing! Lynette taught me crochet which has become my new hobby😊

What an extraordinary workaway!!
We had a really incredible time with Lynette, Simon and the doggies. The accommodation was so tranquil and relaxing; and the location was breath-taking. It was paradise!
As soon as we arrived we were welcomed so warmly by Simon and Lynette, they picked us up from the local station and ensured we had everything
… read more we needed to settle in and feel comfortable. We stayed in a private room in the house with our own bathroom, which felt secluded and easy to wind down. The library, balcony views and the pups ensured we never felt bored. In our free time they offered us lifts to venture out into Coffs Harbour and surrounding areas; Lynette kindly showed us some yoga which made us feel very zen; and occasional board games with them both. The food was so so delicious and they always made sure we were full and satisfied.
In our 9 days, we had a variety of jobs which used permaculture principles, so we learned plenty. We harvested pumpkins, split wood, made biodynamic prep and applied it to trees, picked guava’s, planted garlic, weeded, trimmed the floral bushes and palm trees, made pickled vegetables in jars, mowed and took the doggies for walks.

I had such a wonderful stay with Lynette and Simon, cannot say enough good things!
They immediately made me feel at home and for the entire 2 weeks that I stayed with them. Help was mainly with the chicks in the morning and outdoor chores that needed done (weeding the garden, walking their sweet, sweet pups Hedy + Hugo, and other small side

Lynette was kind enough to teach me how to make natural ointments and beeswax wraps. As well as about soil preparation and all things permaculture gardening. I got to spend time with their beekeeper neighbor who showed us what to look for when opening a beehive. I learned so much during my stay with them!
There is such an awesome community of people in the area they live in and it was cool meeting local farmers + off griders! The farmland in the surrounding area is beautiful and I enjoyed my walks in the evenings around the area.
I will cherish the dinners, conversations, games, and road trips had with them. They both have awesome senses of humor, there was never a dull moment. Thank you for opening up your home to me, I feel lucky and grateful to have met you guys!

My 2 week stay with Lynette and Simon was filled with fun tasks and new experiences.
This workaway is set in a secluded paradise surrounded by beautiful forest. I saw some cool wildlife like wallabies, pademelons, a skink and some beautiful birds as well as many interesting plants and trees on the property.

… read more sweetest pair and I had a great time playing in the garden with them, taking them for long forest walks and giving them lots of attention.
The jobs were mainly gardening tasks like harvesting garlic and potatoes, planting seedlings, and mulching beds as well as looking after the chooks, bees and doggos. I learned a lot about gardening and was introduced to techniques I have never used before such as hydroponics.
Lynette encouraged me to have a go at making some herbal remedies with their homegrown herbs, which I greatly enjoyed! She also taught me to crochet which I am extremely thankful for, and I ended up making a scarf. I was able to experiment with making natural dyes from onion skin, avocado skin and pits, lichen and seaweed. The wool turned out some lovely unexpected colours!
I had so much fun with Lynette and Simon! They are such wonderful people, very inspiring, great conversations and lots of laughs
